Right now, we're seeking a talented commercial leader to head up our Global Purchasing department.  You will take the lead on our overall end – end purchasing process at Watchfinder, reviewing our existing process and seek opportunities for improvements that further enhance the customer experience at Watchfinder. This role is key to the organisation, ensuring that all purchases are made at the right time, right price and in the right quantity supporting commercial activity and customer demands across the Watchfinder regions.

 

ROLE OVERVIEW:

  • Develop purchasing strategies in tandem with all relevant stakeholders which fully leverage all purchasing opportunities and customer experience improvements
  • Collaborate with Richemont Maison’s, UK, EU, US, and HK teams on regional purchasing and PX initiatives
  • Manage, improve, and further extend our global partner network for purchasing and PX (Part Exchange)
  • Analyse trends and market conditions for the present and future global and regional pricing, availability, and capacity of pre-owned luxury watches
  • Monitor and analyse trends in company purchasing spending and make recommendations for future investments while identifying possible margin improvement opportunities
  • Further develop data driven automated buying pricing in line with market trends on a daily basis
  • Leading the overall end-end purchasing process and make continuous improvements in order to provide an excellent customer experience
  • Support the development of departmental budget and planning, forecast, and purchasing-related reporting
  • Be Watchfinder’s purchasing subject matter expert with respect to market and pricing knowledge
  • Program management: Partner with technology and business teams to drive automation and scalability across the organization. - Projects: enhance our purchasing, customer and partner experience.

 

LEADERSHIP, MOTIVATION AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT:

  • Communicating with stakeholders on a day-to-day basis to communicate purchasing and operational activity within the region.
  • Create and engaging culture that focuses on building long-term relationships through the connection and relation of the brand and brand values.
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstratable experience of coaching developing and leading multiple team members in a busy task-oriented environment.

 

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Build high performing teams: Attract people with a winning attitude to succeed; develop and drive individual and team performance through an open feedback culture. Responsible for identifying top and rising talents and developing them in collaboration with wider HQ Functions.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the teams ensuring they have clarity and are enabled to successfully drive and support the overall company direction.
  • Set individual objectives and KPI’s, provide guidance and conduct regular appraisals of team members, ensuring the proper development of personnel and supporting the growth of talents

 

KEY COMPETENCIES

Experience:

  • 6-8 year’s experience heading up Category Management (stock trading, programmatic buying) data driven position within a digital/e-commerce organization.
  • Master’s Degree or similar advanced studies in Business, Finance, Engineering, or other quantitative fields.
  • Transversal project management or cross functional working experience
  • Experience and strong ability to manage complex business processes
  • Prior Experience working in a matrix corporate organization
  • A strategic mind-set, with strong experience with data driven decision making with a strong commercial focus
  • Outstanding Strategic Negotiation skills
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and financial planning.
  • Demonstrated experience with setting and communicating clear expectations and measuring performance results
  • Must have a proven track record in taking ownership, driving results, and moving with speed to implement ideas in a fast-paced environment

Agility:

  • Experience of navigating ambiguity and change with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Data-driven mindset and an aptitude for technology and digital tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work transversally with other departments and countries.
