We have an exciting, brand new opportunity for a passionate, certified Data Scientist to join our Technology team. We are searching for someone who can help the business discover information that is hidden within the company's data stores to help the company make smarter decisions across our retail and operational teams bu using and applying data mining techniques, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques to test the corporate-driven hypothesis. 

 

In addition to the above, the successful Data Scientist shall be developing and maintaining our image classification systems, recommendation engines and automate pricing systems. 

 

 

How will you make an impact? 

 

You'll extract, analyse, and interpret large amounts of data from a range of sources, using algorithmic, data mining, artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistical tools, to make it accessible to businesses. You will then present your results using clear and engaging language. 

 

How will you experience success with us?

 

  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, including both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative field (E.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering)
  • Proven personal portfolio of projects where analytics and data science were used to drive business decisions 
  • Proven experience with Python and associated machine learning and data handling libraries such as Tensorflow/Keras, Scikit-learn, Pandas and Numpy. 
  • An expert in data cleansing and transformation skills
  • Proven experience with object detection & localisation, ideally using OpenCV
  • Proven experience with deep-learning-based image classification & recommendation algorithms 
  • Good applied statistics and data orientated personality 
  • Experience with cloud platforms; Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP
  • Experience with big data frameworks such as Spark/Hadoop

Due to current restrictions around Covid-19, it's likely that all interviewing shall be done via Video call which our Talent team shall help & guide you through the process. For the successful candidate, we are adapting to WFH approach initially, with the flexibility to return to office one or two days per week for meetings.
