Talent Director

Van Cleef and Arpels | New York, NY

 

Role Overview

The Director of Talent for Van Cleef and Arpels, performs a vital role for the Richemont organization in the Americas region, and is an integral member of the leadership team for the region.

 

The Director will be responsible for developing  and executing the Talent strategy for the Maison  Additional responsibilities include spearheading  recruiting activities at all levels, managing the productivity of Talent Managers (currently 2) also dedicated to the Maison and developing and maintaining strong relationships with hiring managers, business and HR leadership, candidates, universities, professional organizations and agencies. In addition to core recruiting activities, the Director will also drive regional talent management and support global employer branding efforts.

 

This role reports to the VP and Head of Talent for the Americas region and works closely on a daily basis with the AVP, Human Resources for Van Cleef and Arpels. The role is based in the regional headquarters located in New York City.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional Talent roadmap for Van Cleef and Arpels, aligning with both the Maison and Richemont strategic objectives.
  • Be accountable for all Talent-related activity in the region for Van Cleef and Arpels
  • Develop resources and successfully execute talent sourcing strategies, as well as continuously analyze market trends and the impact on hiring initiatives.
  • Refine and manage a high volume, full lifecycle recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process that supports an elevated candidate experience and recruiter/hiring manager efficiencies. 
  • Build strong and ongoing relationships with candidates to develop a robust  pipeline for future openings.
  • Manage all external staffing relationships and contracts and serve as direct point of contact for all external recruiters.
  • Meet current and where possible future hiring needs and assist in the development and rollout of talent retention programs.
  • Track trends in recruiting and retention of new hires against agreed KPIs. Report on progress against KPIs in a timely and transparent manner leveraging central resources.
  • Closely collaborate with HRBP’s and Hiring Managers, other Maisons and Functions to analyze and quantify turnover results and report on the overall effectiveness of recruitment efforts and programs.
  • Continuously coach the talent managers, business leaders, hiring managers and HRBP’s on interviewing, assessment, and selection best practices.
  • Provide input and support regional Talent initiatives as needed. Provide transparent and meaningful data as needed to support regional reporting needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Post graduate qualifications preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in full cycle recruitment is essential.
  • Strong luxury retail industry experience and network is highly preferred.
  • Experience at an agency or search firm would be beneficial to the role.
  • Solid experience with various HR and talent systems,  LinkedIn, reference sites (ie Glassdoor), and social media is essential.
  • Experience using behavioral-based interviewing techniques and assessment tools is required.
  • Exceptional customer service focus, attention to detail and drive for results, sense of urgency are essential to the success of the role.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with the Maisons, Functions, external contacts, and third-party partners.
  • High level of integrity and dependability.
  • Results-orientated with a strong track record of quality execution; continually striving for improvement and efficiency.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, Comfortable working proactively in a challenging environment and capable of prioritization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, especially pertaining to business presentations, vendor relationships, negotiations, internal/external communications.
  • Proven ability to influence others and drive meaningful and continuous improvements.

Expected Salary Range: $175,000 to $195,000

Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience.
