What are our expectations?

The Jewelry Setter at Van Cleef & Arpels will be working as part of a team at our New York Workshop, and responsible for setting complex and intricate pieces in precious metals in a fast-paced workshop environment and will report directly to the Workshop Director. The setter is responsible for completing stone settings for all stone shapes and sizes, in various setting types, including but not limited to Pave, channel set, prong setting, bezel setting, etc. In-line with Van Cleef and Arpels requirements and quality. Other responsibilities include managing workload to ensure the timely completion and delivery of all setting work in-line with workshop and personal objectives, standard times, and key performance indicators (KPIs). The role requires one to demonstrate strong cross-organizational communication skills, strong listening skills, as well as the ability to follow job instructions, collaboration with team and to articulate questions as needed.

 

Qualifications for this role include

  • 10-15 years’ experience of setting in a high-paced, high volume workshop environment is strongly preferred
  • Ability to set in gold and platinum a required, must have experience with High Jewelry
  • Knowledge of precious metals and Stones properties.
  • Ability to set all stone shapes in various setting types.
  • Ability to take initiative, follow through on requests until completion and utilize keen attention to detail.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Commitment to excellent client service and high standards
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to be flexible to respond to the quickly changing priorities of a high-volume jewelry workshop needed
  • Demonstrate high level of quality work, attendance, and appearance
  • Ability to speak French a plus
  • Graduation or certification from a technical school a plus
