Role Overview

 

The Setter in the Van Cleef & Arpels workshop will be required to set complex and intricate pieces in precious metals. They will be responsible for completing stone setting for all stone shapes and sizes, in various setting types, including but not limited to pave, channel set, prong setting and bezel setting in line with Van Cleef & Arpels methods & quality.   

  

The setter will be required to manage their workload and ensure the timely completion and delivery of all setting work in line with workshop and personal objectives, standard operating times, and key performance indicators. Strong listening skills, ability to follow job instructions and collaboration with the workshop team and cross functional departments is required. 

 

Responsibilities (or Mission)

 

  • Perform all setting work in accordance with job description and methods supplied by Workshop management to ensure VCA quality standards are met.
  • High Jewelry setting includes pave, channel, prong, and bezel.
  • Experience performing and troubleshooting setting repairs.
  • Collaborate with jewelers, polisher, and quality control departments.
  • Responsible for high quality work and reliable attendance.
 

Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-paced, high volume workshop environment is preferred and graduation or certification from a technical school is a plus.  
  • Experience in High Jewelry setting using microscope and laser welder is required.
  • Experience working with precious metals, stones, setting all stone shapes is also required.   
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and be flexible to respond to the quickly changing priorities of a high jewelry workshop.   
  • Must be able to accommodate a Bench Test as an integral part of the interview process. 
  • GIA Certification and French are a plus.

Salary Range: $38.50- $43/hourly

 

This role is annual bonus eligible.
