Internal Control Analyst

Van Cleef & Arpels | New York, NY

 

Role Overview

The Internal Control Analyst will work closely with the VCA Boutique Network to understand their activities, processes and better assess the risks involved. The Internal Control Analyst reports to the Senior FP&A Manager and works in close partnership with the Operational Excellence Director for ICS related review. In addition, this role takes on FP&A responsibilities including monthly closing process, account analysis, variation analysis, and system data management.

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute monthly ICS controls, complete documentation and maintain reporting system.
  • Evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Identify and escalate control deficiencies and non-compliance policies.
  • Propose corrective action plan to mitigate, manage and eliminate the risks identified and take appropriate steps to remediate deficiencies.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of ICS processes through regular walk-throughs and implement new processes/controls as part of business optimization.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare budgeted figures against actuals and provide actionable insights on discrepancies.
  • Support monthly closes, account analysis and monthly financial reporting, including Anaplan preparation and execution into the system.
  • Support FP&A Senior Manager with ad-hoc requests and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with business partners by fostering relationships, building trust and understanding processes and potential risks.
  • Document current and implement new FP&A Processes and maintain updates.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in FP&A field and compliance, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Strong data analysis capability, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Self-starter and flexible team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, BI.

Expected Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000
