Role Overview

 

As the Assistant Manager of Quality Control and Diagnosis, you will be entrused with the pivotal responsibility to meticulously observe, ensure, and report on the conditions or findings of all jewelry creations serviced, produced, or in-transit through the workshop, customer service or logistics department. Your role will focus on maintaining efficiency and fostering effective communication among all key stakeholders to uphold product integrity and quality standards of the Maison.

 

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Quality Control and will be based in New York.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct thorough diagnosis and assessment of all inbound jewelry repairs received from customers or boutiques.
  • Evaluate and diagnose any time of sale adjustments required for jewelry products.
  • Prepare comprehensive recommendations for adjustments or repairs based on diagnostic findings, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
  • Conduct quality control checks on outbound jewelry products to ensure they meet established standards before leaving the workshop.
  • Perform detailed quality control assessments of all jewelry and high jewelry produced in the workshop.
  • Conduct quality control checks and provide repair or adjustment recommendations for all jewelry and high jewelry in-transit into or out of the U.S or to wholesale partners, ensuring product integrity during transportation.
  • Document all diagnostic findings, recommendations, and quality control assessments accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records for reference and accountability.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Jewelry Design, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field; Jeweler trade education or Graduate Gemologist is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in jewelry manufacturing, quality control, or a related field, with a focus on product inspection (repairs and production), diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of jewelry materials, production processes, and quality standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle defects or imperfections in jewelry products.
  • Demonstrates reflexive critical thinking to effectively analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to analyze jewelry from both aesthetic and technical perspectives, evaluating design elements, craftsmanship, and technical integrity to assess overall quality and identify areas for improvement.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic workshop environment.
  • Experience in MS office applications and experience with quality management software systems.
  • Fluency in spoken French is a major plus.

 Expected Salary Range: $75k - $85k/yearly.

This role is annual bonus eligible.
