What do we expect from you?


To consolidate the legitimacy and relevance of L’ÉCOLE both locally and abroad in the Asia Pacific region, the Development Manager is responsible at growing, engaging, building loyalty of the community of students and visitors, and at building and entertaining its art & culture network through exhibitions, talks, events and relevant partnerships. 

As a member of the senior team of L’ÉCOLE Asia Pacific, directly reporting to the Managing Director. The Development Manager oversees two team members, respectively in charge of Exhibitions and Partnerships/Privatizations/CSR.

 

1. EXHIBITIONS

  • Launch & Supervise the Exhibitions program and maximize its attendance at L’ÉCOLE Asia Pacific in Hong Kong (and APAC markets if applicable). Lead a 360 deployment across L’ÉCOLE departments (Education, Communications, Operations) and with the collaboration the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels.
    • Plan the yearly cultural calendar in collaboration with headquarter & regional teams 
    • Ensure smooth Exhibition operations (development, preparation, production, logistics, ongoing maintenance, lenders, and contributors' relationships)
    • Accountable for exhibitions budget and timeline, procurement, legal, security health and safety requirements 
    • Cultivate relationships with internal & external parties, collaborate with the Communications team for full toolbox and promotion of events 
    • Ensure internal & external appropriate project team & manpower, and engage all departments collaboration for a 360 deployment across departments (Education, Communications, Operations)
    • Curation: Supervise the content adaptation and exhibition-related print & digital identity and assets development (main visual, exhibits photoshoot, catalogue, kids booklet, videos, audio guide, related conversations and short courses..)

 2. CONVERSATIONS

  • Propose, animate and roll-out the Conversations program across Asia Pacific: face-to-face talks in L’ÉCOLE premises or at partner venues, and online sessions from HK or other APAC cities/markets. Ensure the promotion of these programs in cooperation with Communications team, maximize attendance and foster the audience loyalty (public & partners). 
    • Leverage the local & regional cultural calendar to enrich the dialogue around Jewelry Arts
    • Identify expert speakers, suggest content development or adaptation, and ensure a smooth coordination and approval with headquarters 
    • For each new event, curate the visual and content, coordinate its deployment through online channels (website, newsletter, invitations, social media..).
    • Organize on-site conversations, coordinate the set-up & logistics with all involved parties: speakers, lenders, staff members, technical agencies, community of students, guests etc. 
    • Initiate the list of VIP & partners guests’ invitations to the Managing Director Manager, ensure full or maximal attendance 
    • Coordinate the video recording of live events, brief speakers and technical crew, schedule pilot sessions
    • Promote the development & attendance of live talks across the region and ensure smooth execution (interpretation, moderation, post-event video editing, post on video platforms..)

3. PARTNERSHIPS & CSR

  • Drive the Cultural partnerships, Outreach & CSR strategy.
    • Lead L’ÉCOLE’s partnership ecosystem, exploring new opportunities by leveraging on L’ÉCOLE’s assets and strength with a goal to create better value to the company and offer exclusive experiences
    • Grow and entertain the Education, Art, Culture and expert networks, build the awareness of the School among regional cultural and educational institutions.
    • Build, animate & entertain L’ÉCOLE’s Committee (organize yearly meetings, specific events like gala dinner, manage mailing for gifts, school trips..)
    • Leverage the art & culture calendar to identify potential partners & opportunities (fairs, festivals, museums, schools, exhibitions etc.)
    • Build outreach strategies to develop L’ÉCOLE awareness & visibility among relevant art-savvy audience and partner channels to foster recruitment
    • CSR: Proactively support the local community through education or art-related initiatives (scholarships, sponsorships, donations, free programs).


4. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 

  • Maximize community development, student diversification and engagement.
    • Develop & Animate the community (newsletters)
    • Encourage student retention & loyalty (maximize opportunities to build engagement through invitations to events, special offers, gifting, exclusive experiences etc.)
    • In liaison with the Maison CRM teams, develop joint initiatives, and use the school and its activities to engage with its clients. 
    • Develop, optimize the student/visitor journey and enhance its experience (assets, website, ticketing, on-site experience, feedback)
    • Supervise the development of a B2B offer to recruit corporate clients (build the offer, plan the promotion across partners and channels). Organize private and bespoke events to achieve successful 
    • Connect with partners to maximize the exposure of L’ÉCOLE offer and activities (hotels, concierges, event agencies etc.)
    • Supervise the nomadic schools, temporary exhibitions, or stone weeks across the region and in collaboration with the Operations team.


5. AD HOC

  • Coordinate ad-hoc projects to grow the School reputation and success. 
    • Initiate & supervise local content development (exhibition, conversations, publications) in collaboration with headquarter 
    • Coordinate translation of existing L’ÉCOLE publications in local languages, liaise with partners & APA markets for its promotion and distribution. 
    • Observe & monitor cultural activities across Hong Kong and the region to keep up with current events, identify potential partners & opportunities.
