Role Overview

 

The Retail Analyst will support the Central/Canada Region by maintaining the Retail department budgets and by handling administrative tasks as needed. Budget maintenance is the primary responsibility of the Retail Analyst. This encompasses tracking, processing, and monitoring departmental expenses with attention to detail and accuracy. To do so, the Retail Analyst will coordinate with various departments within VCA and Richemont. The Retail Analyst will also institute new processes and dashboards to enhance precision. The role requires an organized professional with accounting skills that can navigate a fast paced, constantly changing environment. The Retail Analyst report to the Regional Retail Director, Central/Canada, based in Chicago.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor actual spend vs. plan on an on-going basis, including benchmark analysis and reconciliation with finance dept.
  • Support the Store Planning team & Training team in communicating and coordinating with vendors and external/internal partners.
  • Issue and monitor PO, invoices & payments, track, and update budget tools for all projects.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and accurate tracking and reporting
  • Frequently communicate budget status to each department head
  • Keep track of training participants expenses and ensure correct cost functions are used. Reconcile or reclass if needed with AP department.
  • Adhoc projects as needed to support and streamline processes and database

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
  • 3 years of related experience in accounting
  • Strong aptitude to work with figures and problem solve
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and expert Excel skills
  • Previous experience with luxury consumer products desired
  • Previous knowledge of SAP and comfort with BI reporting systems is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to travel as needed
