MAIN PURPOSE

The Communication Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the annual local marketing and communications strategy for Vacheron Constantin in the South East Asia region. This role supports the Marketing Director on building a comprehensive, strategic media, PR, events and digital plan to elevate brand awareness, achieve brand goals and increase ROI.

 

Internally, he/she will work cross-functionally with the SEA/AUS sales, wholesale, retail, training, and visual merchandising, as well as with HQ teams - ensuring that the HQ’s guidelines and objectives are being flawlessly executed and met.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Brand marketing

  • Assist in the management of annual A&P budget – tracking advertising, events and PR spending.
  • Formulate annual media strategies that adheres with global media brief and managing media agency/partners to constantly deliver results/maximize ROI on invested media budget annually.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly update on competitor’s activities (sales, distribution, pricing, A&P/Events activities, etc) for reporting in HQ
  • Initiate marketing initiatives and partnership programs that contribute to driving retail footfall and conversion.
  • Drive e-visibility across relevant online channels and assist in the marketing of
    e-commerce strategies.
  • To work closely with the Retail and CRM teams so as to ensure marketing activities are in line with commercial needs.
  • Plan and implement the necessary market research to contribute to local brand strategies (i.e. best practices, consumer trends).

 

PR and Events

  • Ability to “think outside the box” and be able to implement new and effective ways to market and promote assigned releases, always ahead of the game.
  • Develop and manage marketing and promotional plans in line with global Communication strategy for retail business, providing measureable results.
  • Develop and nurture press, media, KOLs (influencers, collectors etc) relationships in respective markets to promote positive word of mouth and brand advocacy.
  • Propose and ensure key media/KOLs attendance and engagement in all local/regional/global press launches/events. (i.e W&W/Product Launches)
  • Plan and evaluate PR investments/sponsorships in key media partners across all touch points periodically on editorials, advertorials, features etc. with direct report.
  • Plan, budget and implement of all brand related activities (VIPs and Press) in all markets, including supporting of CRM/Retail events.
  • Initiate brand image driven, or below the line, or sales driven event ideas. Work through the process of idea developments, proposals, to obtaining approvals and flawless executions.

 

Drive Digital Campaigns and Social Media Content

  • Collaborate with HQ digital and social media teams to deliver innovative, effective and social media marketing campaigns
  • Amplification of digital content, provided by HQ through all local market social postings (geo targeted etc).
  • Drive brand e-visibility with strategic partners and preparing brand assets
  • Assist in marketing execution digital media to drive e-commerce sales; preparing brand assets and content, ensure accuracy of product information.
  • Work closely with agency to build and develop VAC’s LINE account.

 

COMPETENCIES

 

  • A good business degree in Mass Communications, Marketing or other related field.
  • Experience in product marketing experience with international companies or agencies (PR, Advertising) is a plus.
  • Strategic communications & marketing thinking, a mentality of leveraging cross functional resources and pushing for integration, and strong event management skills, with a high aptitude for creativity.
  • Proven experience in planning, budgeting and cost control for A&P budgets.
  • Ability to understand consumers and translate consumer insight to marketing opportunities. Highly reactive to new media technology and consumer trend.
  • Strong people/team management and agency management skills, with ability to influence, motivate and negotiate.
  • Digitally savvy and willingness to learn on trends in digital/social media.
  • Self-motivator, can-do oriented, independent and proactive approach to work.
  • Outstanding command in English and Chinese - written and spoken
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Appreciation for luxury watches and jewellery.
