MAIN PURPOSE

The position is expected to define, propose and continuously animate the Japan retail/Wholesale network to reach sales and qualitative targets. Also, empower boutique members to ensure boutiques net margin by the control of the budgets and respect processes and policy.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Retail Sales
  • Instill a strong culture of both service and productivity
  • Responsible for all direct stores’ sales target, as well as store P&L / contribution
  • Recruit, develop and grow store population, with focus on Boutique Managers.
  • Be a brand ambassador in Japan. Build strong relationship with VIC clients, landlords, department stores, fashion community in Japan.
  • Plan and control sales budgets of supervising boutiques to achieve targets.
  • Manage boutique staff and ensure all staff have good sales skills and motivation to achieve sales targets and provide good customer service. Align with brand service standards and meet service targets in Mystery Shopping.
  • Manage all negotiations with department stores on terms and conditions.
  • Co-work with department stores in regard to sales events and sales trends, and maintain good relationship and conduct the continuous dealings.

 

  1. Wholesale
  • Achieve monthly and yearly sell-in targets
  • Manage the sales team and product allocation to maximize sales
  • Prepare and implement regular sales meeting with dealers to meet targets
  • Create/maintain strong relationships with dealers
  • Implement and maintain model stock in all POS
  • Increase visibility in all POS
  • Negotiate on trade terms as necessary
  • Close accounts with limited potential/Open high potential POS
  • Intelligence in Wholesale environment – competitors and dealers’ movements
  • Plan, implement & support fairs to maximize sales-to-cost ratio
  • Propose sales promotion initiatives to increase sales
  • Dealers training (sell-out training, new products, etc.)
  • Annual action plan by account to express their full potential
  • Manage supply chain and plan monthly/yearly product needs
  • Submit accurate monthly sales forecasts
  • Sell-in, sell-out, stock analysis

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years retail manager experience in import or domestic apparel industry. Luxury brand experience preferable.
  • Deep understanding of retail business and fashion and department store industries.
  • Business level of English preferable
