Assistant Manager, Leave Administration

SUMMARY

We are looking for a tactical and strategic thinker to join the Total Rewards team who is passionate about evolving the employee experience through innovative approaches and programs within Total Rewards. The Assistant Manager, Leave Administration will focus primarily on developing and administering leave programs across Richemont Americas while liaising with HR business partners, leaders, and benefit vendors.

MAIN PURPOSE

This position administers the Leave of Absence (LOA) programs. Based in our Shelton, CT office and reporting to the Benefits Director, this individual, in addition to carrying out the day-to-day administrative processing, will serve as the subject matter expert and proactively identify areas for continuous improvement in our policies and processes.

 

RichemontKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage company’s leave of absence programs which includes short-term disability, FMLA, parental leave, and state leaves with third-party vendor.
  • Ensure benefit premiums are paid while on leave.
  • Manage reasonable accommodations process in tandem with HRBP and third-party administrator.
  • Reporting and filing with company’s Workers’ compensation administrator. Work and partner with internal Health & Safety team.
  • Manage leave communications, including; delivering leave training for employees and HR community, periodically updating plan documents, maintaining the benefits intranet site, coordinate deliverables with communications partners.
  • Recommend and implement benefit plan and process changes.
  • Oversee periodic audits on leave administration, billing, and system transmissions to ensure data/system integrity. Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Participate in the vendor evaluation and selection process. Manage and maintain benefit vendor relationships.
  • Ability to effectively synthesize information to communicate and educate both employees and internal teams of Company’s leave plans.
  • When appropriate, effectively communicate and liaise with internal teams such as HR Business Partners, Payroll, Legal, Internal Communications, and applicable third-party vendors.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Resolve complex and escalated leave administration issues.
  • Assist with monitoring HR benefits shared email box.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of benefits experience, including program administration, communication, and compliance activities. Strong focus on leave of absence and workers’ compensation.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resource Administration, or related field.
  • Experience administering benefit related laws and regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and  HIPAA. Knowledge of federal and state leave laws.
  • Must be able to manage confidential information and use discretion.
  • HRIS/HCM experience required, SAP or Workday experience a plus. Ceridian payroll experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be very hands-on and operate independently, while coupled with a healthy appreciation for the big picture. A natural desire to help people.
  • Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to quickly respond to employees’ requests which demonstrates thoughtfulness and empathy.
  • Experience in working for a matrix, multi-brand organization, either in HQ or regional functions.
  • Experience with retail and hourly employees preferred
  • Luxury/retail industry knowledge is a plus.
  • Understanding of system integration and data feeds.
