ROLE DESCRIPTION:

 

The mission of the Commercial Director is to lead and manage the overall retail network of TimeVallée China focused on driving growth, productivity and performance. Working closely with the CEO, this individual will have direct responsibility to develop short to mid-term action plans in support of the overall strategic direction ensuring systematic implementation and execution excellence.

 

This role will take charge of commercial discussions with all retailer partners for business planning including target setting, 360 activation initiatives, product management and training programs. He/she will conduct regular reviews with individual Maison’s to monitor achievement of qualitative and quantitative measures establishing work streams to drive performance.    

 

Commercial Director will lead a team of Area Retail Managers and Senior Training Manager overseeing the China retail network, working in partnership with the retailers, providing structured frameworks on day-to-day operations ensuring the stores are operating according to TimeVallée standards.

 

As part of the ExCo team, the Commercial Director must be able to develop solutions to complex issues, have deep understanding of local market, strong ability to influence and able to communicate with senior management of various stakeholders. To succeed in this role, this individual must be highly adaptable, relentless and able progress initiatives in a fast-paced environment.  

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop annual China commercial strategies and budget planning in alignment with the brand’s global strategic objectives and priorities
  • Ensure implementation of strategy in accordance with key milestone and timelines with regular communication of progress reports to headquarter
  • Lead regular strategic and performance reviews with individual Maison’s (Richemont & non-Richemont) to maximize overall collaboration performance
  • Working closely with the CEO, lead the long-term strategic planning, development, and management of the China retail network
  • Close collaboration with Marketing & Communications Director to align, co-ordinate and deploy resources systematically focusing on maximizing impact and returns
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with key retail partners at leadership, management and operational levels
  • Develop TimeVallée ‘intensive care’ program for non-performing doors and work one to one with dealer management team on location to rectify and turnaround operational & P&L issues
  • Create and manage retail orientation workshops for formal introduction to TimeVallée brand, mission, purpose and value proposition
  • Develop TimeVallée ‘centre of excellence’ program in collaboration with Senior Training manager for talent identification, development and monitoring
  • Work closely with retail partners to ensure key store personnel, including boutique managers are vetted, qualified and trained according to TimeVallée standards of retail excellence
  • Conduct regular inspections of boutiques to ensure compliance with brand guidelines and to establish best in class customer service

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • In-depth knowledge of hard luxury industry, local market and client behavior
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years’ experience in China at brand channel management
  • Cross cultural communicator, able to confidently engage in leadership
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of responsibility, self-motivated, problem solver
  • Fluency in written and spoken Chinese and English
  • Domestic travel is required (approximately 50% of time)
