Tax Manager

Role Overview

 

The Tax Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of all activities related to income and property tax, including planning, compliance, reporting, and submissions for the Richemont Americas U.S. and Canada markets. This role contributes to income and property tax strategy development, in collaboration with key stakeholders, to ensure the ongoing optimization of the company’s tax position. The role is located in New York, NY and reports to the Region’s Tax Director. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee and manage the Company’s quarterly and annual income tax provision for the U.S. and Canada. 
  • Contribute to the development and oversight of tax strategies to minimize liabilities, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Review calculations for current payable and deferred taxes, and uncertain tax positions, and prepare submissions for Group, for consolidation. 
  • Manage the preparation of the U.S. and Canada income tax returns, in partnership with external parties, reviewing prepared returns to ensure accuracy and coordinating timely filings.
  • Manage the preparation of property tax renditions for all retail boutiques and office locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
  • Review and ensure property tax bills are paid on time. 
  • Collaborate with Maison and Functions Finance teams to ensure proper accrual of annual property taxes.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of business licenses for all U.S. locations, partnering with Maisons and Functions on new locations and relocations to ensure licenses are accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor tax legislation and changes in tax laws across the U.S. and Canada to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Assist with internal controls compliance, as needed.
  • Provide inspiring, supportive, inclusive leadership to direct report(s), driving performance, development, accountability, and delivery of KPIs.

 

Qualifications

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Juris doctor, master of laws, master’s degree in taxation, and/or CPA certification strongly preferred

 

Professional Experience

  • 5-8 years of professional tax experience
  • Public accounting experience required
  • Commercial / retail income and property tax experience preferred

 

Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to continually assess processes and propose improvements
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Successful leadership / managerial experience preferred
  • Monthly travel to Shelton required. (1-2 Days)

Expected Salary Range: $110,000-$140,000
