Role Description

Richemont’s Workplace Systems product area provides Group standards for devices in a variety of workplace environments, including manufacture, warehouses, boutiques, and offices. 

 
As Workplace Systems Engineer you will be part of the team within the Network and System Management domain in the Technology Foundation department. 

  

You will deal with other engineers, architects, and technical experts, as well as business stakeholders at the Group level and within the Maisons, to transform business requirements into standards for devices of various type, such as computers, smartphones, tablets, screens, terminals, scanners, printers, digital whiteboards, digital signage, and meeting room equipment. 

 

Reporting Line: You will report to the Workplace Systems Team Lead. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Contribute to the definition of standards and good practices on the usage of devices at Richemont. 

 

Work hand in hand with projects and products counterparts to advise them on the usage of Richemont standard devices or the identification of new ones.  

 

Engage with stakeholders to discover opportunities for improvement and innovation, eliciting business requirements to continuously enhance the device offering.  

 

Actively participate in the architectural design of the infrastructure for provisioning, managing and securing standard devices. 

 

Testing and validating new hardware devices or new configurations to satisfy new business needs and ensure continuity of the standard through models’ lifecycle, evolution of the market and adoption of new use cases. 

 

Communicate about best practices, standard catalogs, technical documentation and governance for the provisioning and adoption of standard devices in the Group. 

 

Continuously improve the workplace technology of our boutiques, logistic centers and manufactures, with solution tailored to the specific needs of these environments. 

 

Support with quality and empathy the Retail, logistic and manufacture landscapes treating incoming L3 incidents (from low to high priority) respecting the established SLA’s. 

 

Coordinate design, communication and implementation of small projects that are limited to the Retail ecosystem.  

 

Research and Development, stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend new technologies for integration into the network architecture.

You matured good foundational knowledge about Networking and Security concepts.  

Practical experience with Cloud services, mainly with SaaS applications. Knowledge of advanced Cloud topics, preferably on AWS, is a plus. 

You are familiar with how Operating Systems work and how to configure and manage them in an enterprise environment through consoles and management systems. 

You can write scripts in at least one language (Python, Power Shell, etc). More coding experience is a plus. Knowledge of low code tools such as Power Platform is a plus. 

You can manipulate data from a variety of sources, extract insights and visually present results. 

You have experience in deploying PC settings through GPO and Intune profiles or custom scripts. 

You have experience in configuring and managing computers in Kiosk mode. 

You have experience in managing Android devices through an MDM. 

You understand VDIs provisioning in a Cloud environment (AWS, Citrix). 

You have working experience with Printing Protocols (PCL & ZPL) and servers. 

You are familiar with POS devices, Credit Card terminals and typical computing setup found in retail environments. 

You are familiar with hardware specification of computers and devices in general and their impact on performance. 

You know the basic principles and operations of the supply chain streams (Customer Service, Logistique, Manufacturing). 

You are familiar with logs reading and are capable to perform root cause analysis of complex issues. 

Being familiar with Tanium is a plus. 

 

Strong team player, inquisitive, and willing to seek help when needed. 

Capability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

Previous experience in a large international environment is advantageous. 

Proficient in technical English (both written and spoken). 

Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to challenge peers. 

Analytical thinking with a result-oriented mindset. 

 

Education & Certifications 

 

Minimum Higher Diploma, bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent. 

At least 5 years of experience as a Workplace engineer in retail environment. 

Relevant certifications are highly desirable. 

Amazon Web Services Practitioner. 

Security Knowledge or Certifications. 

Automation/Scripting Certifications.
