Data Engineer

 

MAIN PURPOSE

 

The Data Engineer will integrate in the Group Technology Data team. He/She will be responsible for the acquisition and processing of data to provide outputs for analytics and data science.

 

The Data Engineer will be responsible for the full data life cycle within the assigned task/project/product area, from data ingestion to data processing and preparation (ETL): building data pipelines, transformation and aggregation rules, and eventually consumable data models.

He/She will work closely with the Group Data Office to ensure the end-to-end consistency of the related data applications.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Translate the business requirements into technical specifications, in cooperation with Group Data Office.

 

  • Estimate, plan, manage, and lead the assigned data integration projects/tasks within the Data Warehouse team. Coordinate the related tasks and workload with the rest of the Data Warehouse engineers.

 

  • Build corresponding ETL processes and data flows to provide data outputs for analytics and data science.

 

  • Cooperate with the support teams to ensure data consistency, data accuracy, and performance of the delivered flows. Provide L3 support when required.

 

  • Coordinate the system upgrades together with other platform teams, including the planning and execution of non-regression tests.

 

  • Define and promote best practices and design principles for Data Warehouse architecture in cooperation with the Data Warehouse architect.

 

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Deep knowledge of SAP BW data modeling and best practices, including HANA modeling and BW4HANA and Datasphere (at least 5 years hands-on experience).

 

  • Knowledge of Google BigQuery and dbt is a plus.

 

  • Report Design using both, SAP Anlaytics Cloud and Looker is a plus.

 

  • ABAP, SQL, and Python.

 

  • Scrum methodology knowledge
