Duties and Responsibilities

- To support the Senior Legal Manager and Legal Manager in Japan and the HQ Legal counsels in charge of the Maisons in providing legal advice and assistance principally to Richemont Japan Limited and the Maisons, and to other brands/entities within Richemont as required.
- To review, draft and negotiate contractual agreements/arrangements to include sale of goods, distribution, consignment, purchase of goods and services, licences, outsourcing, IT development and Software as a Service agreements, real property, asset/business sale and purchase agreements, PR services, event, and sponsorship agreements in Japanese and English.
- To respond verbally and in writing to legal questions/issues generated by the Maisons in Japanese and English.
- To monitor legal developments and advise on the implications thereof for businesses and to make appropriate recommendations, self-help tools e.g., templates/Q&A’s as and when required.
- To identify legal risk areas and advise on their impact, make appropriate recommendations, and provide solutions where possible.
- To liaise with the Maisons in order to understand business strategies and identify projects in respect of which legal implications/issues may arise.
- To provide general support and assistance to legal department at Headquarters and the HQ lawyers including dealing with ad hoc queries from Japan offices of the Maisons based overseas e.g., Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Chloe etc.
- To liaise with external counsel, property agents, insurers, other external advisers where appropriate.
- To liaise with the back-office functions (e.g., Treasury, Tax, Finance) where appropriate and assist in the rollout of HQ projects locally when required.
