R&I Internship - Development and industralization of innovative coatings for watch decorations

MISSION
We offer a 6-month internship starting in February 2025. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and industrialization of innovative coatings for watch decorations. These processes involve different scientific and technical fields such as chemistry, materials science, vacuum deposition and electrochemistry.
RESPONSABILITIES
In close collaboration with the Materials, Chemistry and Surfaces team, under the responsibility of your internship supervisor, your main responsibilities will be as follows :
- Conducting bibliographic research;
- Design and implementation of experimental plans;
- Drafting analytical and manufacturing methods;
- Conduct experimental studies and analyse results;
- Characterization of materials and chemical formulations;
- Microstructural characterization (optical microscope, etc.);
- Carrying out metrological controls.
PROFILE
You are a Master’s level engineering student with a good knowledge in chemical science and surface treatment. Knowledge of electrochemistry or vacuum deposition is a plus. Good knowledge in French is required.
You are able to conduct an experimental campaign and analyse the results. You have a particular interest in watchmaking and innovation.
Dynamic, organized and autonomous, you have a good ability to synthesize and are proactive. You demonstrate writing skills and analytical rigor.
Based mainly in La Chaux-de-Fonds at the Manufacture ProCadrans, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from other research sectors within our hub located in Microcity, Neuchâtel.
