MAIN PURPOSE

In your role as Endpoint Virtual Environments Engineer, you represent the Group Technology department as a member of the Network & Systems Management – Endpoint Solutions team. You will play a central role in the EVE engineering activities of the department. This will include but are not limited to: project participation and implementation, change execution, general enhancements and platform implementation requests incident handling support and troubleshooting, together with the associated monitoring of these platforms.

You will work as the first line of response for all L3 Operational issues worldwide within the EVE scope, either those that are identified by the central teams or the Local worldwide IT Support teams. Generally, as part of your overall accountability you are responsible for the health, operational stability and innovation of the provided services and technologies within our scope.

In this context you will work within the EPS-EVE team and transversely across the wider remit of Group Technology.

You will report to the Team Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leverage experience with Citrix to setup and maintain virtual desktops and virtual apps in AWS
Deploy and lifecycle of gold images with an as code approach through DevOps scripting tools
Troubleshooting, problem tracking, root-cause analysis, may engage with vendor support
Detect trends in technical issues, develops recommendations for long-term improvements
Communicates status of issue and resolution to internal customers
Drives innovation within the platform scope, ensuring solutions are not tied to a specific vendor and align with strategic objectives

REQUIREMENTS

Experience / technical scope

Minimum 5 years of experience as an IT System Engineer

Citrix, Virtual Desktops and Apps, Citrix Cloud mandatory. Experience in global environment or large environments is an advantage. Other virtual environments competitors, an advantage
Experience with VDI environments and MCS deployments
Scripting languages: PowerShell and Citrix PowerShell scripting mandatory; json, yml, vbs, Python is an advantage
Knowledge of FSLogix, WEM
Familiar with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy
Client: Windows 10 / 11, macOS, iOS, Linux
Experience or willingness to learn Infrastructure as Code through DevOps scripting (GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Packer, Ansible)
Experience in maintaining gold images for Citrix Workers and Virtual Desktops
Technical knowledge and experience with AWS, Alibaba is an advantage
Agile work experience with Jira, an advantage
Documenting on Confluence

Professional certifications (preferrable but not a must)

Citrix (CCA/CCP/CCE-V)
AWS Cloud Practitioner
Alibaba Cloud Certified Associate, an advantage
Microsoft certifications, an advantage
Security certifications, an advantage
ITILv4
