Based in Hong Kong, the Assistant Compliance Manager – Northeast Asia (“NEA”) is responsible for the compliance function of NEA, reporting to the Compliance Manager NEA. He/she will:

  • Define and rollout the GRC Controls Framework and the wider internal governance, in conjunction with Maisons and Functions stakeholders in NEA, APAC Region and the Richemont Group (NEA CEO, Maisons Directors, Function Heads, Regional and Group ICS)
  • Constantly update this GRC Controls Framework to take into account new processes, new systems or new business activities, with suggestion to management for early risk mitigation
  • Leverage on new technologies and effectively and efficiently enforce this Controls Framework

 

To achieve the above objectives:

  • He/she will assist NEA management to provide assurance to Group ICS and external auditors, according to the Group GRC framework and requirements
  • He/she has to assist NEA management to fulfil various ICS objectives and management requests within NEA, which covers Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan
  • Occasional travel will be required, in order to assess/reinforce the Control Framework at both NEA and market level for early risk mitigation

 

Key Responsibilities

Internal Controls and Compliance Assurance

To implement ICS program in pursuant with Group ICS policies and procedures, including:

  • Assess process and controls, identify and report control gaps, formulate and follow up of remediation plans with business users across brands and functions
  • Manage the Group Riskonnect reporting system to ensure that correct and complete information is documented by control owners, including control activities, results of control reviews and progress of remediation plans
  • Extend the control reviews to cover essential processes and flows pertinent to financial reporting. This will cover identification of risks and initiation of corrective actions with process owners and relevant stakeholders in alignment with Group/Regional policies and procedures
  • Initiate regular review with Business/IT Users to ensure user access profiles to application systems are properly reviewed by the user departments in pursuant with Group Requirements to ensure that all valid user profiles are on need basis, profiles with segregation of duties conflicts are with mitigation controls timely established upon user profiles set up
  • Reinforce internal control awareness and understanding across the local market
  • Assist the management to plan in advance if additional resources are required for timely completion of interim and year end ICS testing in pursuant of Group ICS/external audit requirements; and to extend proper supervision and training to the staff assigned
  • Coordinate with external auditors on internal control and audit related issues including local Sox compliance
  • Coordinate with Regional Compliance and HQ on compliance and internal control related issues

 

Risk Control Assignments / Management Review

  • Partner with Richemont functions to conduct local self-control risk assessment review to better manage risks and embed controls at operational level beyond Group SOX requirements; Oversee the NEA self-control risk assessment review to mitigate the risk for the benefit of total NEA
  • Plan and perform special reviews/projects as assigned by local and regional management
  • Compile Quarterly NEA Compliance Report to assist FD and CEO of NEA in following up implementation status of action plans for issues and incidents identified

 

Retail Controls and Compliance Assurance

To review and assess retail controls are properly exercised among Maisons and Richemont Functions, including:

  • To ensure proper documentation of controls over retail activities, complete testing and follow up issued relating to retail controls for fulfilling Group ICS requirements
  • To oversee Group Policies and Procedures for Boutique ICS review of retail front office controls are observed,
  • To closely work with Retail Finance Back Office on maintenance of Group share-point and Boutique Operations Manual

 

Training and Staff Management & Development

  • Liaise with stakeholders to manage delivery of Internal Control Compliance training content and presentation within the market to enhance control awareness
  • Keep abreast of ICS review methodology, Group / Regional Policies and Procedures and extend rapport and feedback to Group, Regional and other market ICS/Internal Audit teams on internal control related issues
  • Coach and develop subordinates to fulfil Group ICS objectives and technical requirements

 

Your Profile

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline, with CPA or comparable qualification
  • Minimum of 4 years of audit, risk, and internal control experience with an international company
  • Good knowledge of risk management, International Accounting Standards and SOX
  • Mature, highly agile and able to deal with ambiguity and handling a matrix-based organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels in Maisons, functions and markets
  • With experience in consistent application of the Governance, Risk and Controls Framework, with alignment with Group ICS and APAC Regional ICS
  • Ability to enhance the profile of the ICS Function in a highly customer-centric environment
  • Advanced team leadership skill to develop and maintain a high-performance team in a dynamic environment
