Assistant Project Manager

Role Overview

 

In this position, you will be responsible for providing coordination and comprehensive support to the technical team in charge of the time piece repairs, by ensuring projects are completed on time and to the specified quality standards. You will play an active role in the roll-out of our strategic operational plan by managing the renovation of the facility, as well as improving and standardizing processes by applying Lean Manufacturing principles and tools. This position will also be responsible for the coordination of all training initiatives with the different Maisons.

 

The Assistant Project Manager will be based at the Richemont Technical Center, in Fort Worth, TX, and will report to the Technical Project Manager.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Strategic plan roll-out

  • Support facility renovation projects, applying industrial engineering and lean methodologies to the continuous improvement of operational flows.
  • Coordinate all renovation initiatives cross-functionally to ensure we are meeting project deadline, budget expectations and business needs and continuity.
  • Responsible for workshop layout design ensuring effective workflows as business needs evolve.
  • Tropicalize and maintain Business Emergency Plan in alignment with the regional central team in case of a catastrophic event.

 

Training support

  • Forecast training needs based on business volumes and people movements to support technical career path.
  • Coordinate all training schedules and travel logistics for trainers and participants ensuring proper communication with HQ and other internal stakeholders.

 

Flow & Process optimization

  • Conduct required analysis in support of facility renovation to ensure operational flows, capacity, and throughput are properly considered.

 

 

  • Perform complex engineering tasks of design, evaluation, problem solving, analysis and planning to support technical operations and optimize internal flows within Group template (Stream).
  • Conduct time and motion studies and evaluate production standards; perform maintenance and adjust standards to reflect changes in business requirements, flows, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Execute action plan and collaborate with various departments, Maisons and regional central team to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of all project documentation, including plans, reports, and records for easy access and reference through the different project lifecycles.
  • Provide analytical support for ad-hoc requests and projects based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational/administrative skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of customer service principles and practices, ability to perform with minimum supervision
  • 2 to 3 years' work experience in project management, preferably in an industrial environment
  • Knowledge of luxury industry and/or watchmaking industry is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or equivalent is a plus
  • English required, French is a plus
