R&I Internship - Study of the optimisation of the mechanical properties of watchmaking alloys

MISSION
We are looking for an intern from March 2025 and for a period of 6 months to conduct work on the development of materials with high mechanical properties using advanced thermomechanical technologies.
RESPONSABILITIES
In close collaboration with the Materials , Chemistry and Surfaces team, under the supervision of your internship supervisor, your missions will be as follows:
- Pre-industrialization test campaign of a new technology;
- Identification of the ideal implementation path to obtain high mechanical properties;
- Mechanical characterization of alloys (hardness, traction, etc.);
- Microstructural characterization (MO, SEM, etc.);
- Database implementation.
PROFILE
- You are a master's level engineering student with a good knowledge of metallurgy and materials science. Good knowledge in French is required.
- Able to successfully conduct an experimental campaign and analyze the results, you have a particular interest in watchmaking and the innovation process.
- Dynamic, organized and autonomous, you have a good ability to summarize and are proactive. With good interpersonal skills, you demonstrate writing skills and analytical rigor.
Based mainly in Delémont at the Manufacture Varinor, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from other research sectors within our hub located in Microcity, Neuchâtel.
