Controller is responsible for HK and Macau markets and acts as business partner and key contact point of responsible maison(s)/functions for finance matters.
Potential candidate is passionate about developing his/her career in luxury business, focusing on finance business partnering & professional development and willing to grow together with our Maisons / Functions.
Key responsibilities
Business Partnering
- Act as a finance business partner to Maisons/functions to comment on, challenge and explain financial performance
- Safeguard the financial objective through both P&L and assets of the Maisons/functions by analyzing financial impacts of budget/ forecast deviations, and maintaining the independent view of Finance in business decisions
- Drive insightful analysis and financial visibility to enable strategic and operational decisions
- Support business Omni-channel development and digitalization
Financial Reporting & Review
- Prepare timely HK and Macau financial and management reports to HQ and management
- Controlling month-end checking process to ensure compliance with IFRS & Group guidelines
- Liaise and advise Maisons and support functions on the appropriate accounting treatment of transactions
Maisons’ Retail and Wholesale Operation Support and Control Activities
- Provide operational support and advice on proper policy and procedure, compliance and financial impact.
- Monitor Purchasing activities and financial risk
- Ensure completeness and correctness of financial control existence and monitor compliance
- Retail and wholesale discount
- Gratuity and stock
- Approval matrix review
- Monitor retail & wholesales business process
- Master data maintenance
Finance transformation projects & process automatization:
- Streamline and automate the operating process by coordinating with Regional Finance and IT to develop regular financial management reports and business analysis for maisons/functions management
- Identify, define, and drive process/system improvement projects in line with the business needs; whilst continuously improving tools and processes
- Work with the local/ regional teams for digitalization and data-visualization to provide adequate analysis for business and strategic decision making
Your Profile
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- 4-6 years relevant experience in accounting / financial planning and analysis / management reporting / retail operation
- Strong analytical mind with excellent interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving capability
- Strong sense of responsibility, self-initiated, well organized and able to work independently
- Must be results oriented, customer focused and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong commercial sense and business partnering experience
- Industry experience gained from sizable MNC is highly valued but not a must
- Good experience or knowledge of SAP/ Business Intelligence
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in the use of Excel and PowerPoint
- High proficiency in written and verbal communication skills in English
