BACKGROUND

To further strengthen the efficiency of Richemont Group Legal, we are currently recruiting a Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and support to various Maisons and entities of the Richemont Group.
You will be part of a team within Group Legal that deals with a wide spectrum of topics including Maisons’ manufacturing, distribution, sponsorship, licences, endorsement, lease, employment, service, corporate, compliance, litigations, etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Each of the areas of responsibility will involve a variety of different challenges requiring the person to be both flexible and adaptable whilst demonstrating gravitas in their dealings with internal and external counterparties. 

Reporting directly to the Head Counsel for these specific Maisons, this role will be responsible for the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Provide timely and results oriented legal advice and support on a wide variety of matters across all lines of business to teams of the Richemont Maisons.
  • Respond to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis and evaluation of risks in order to provide appropriate legal solutions.
  • Negotiate, review, comment on and draft a wide variety of legal and commercial documents, including manufacturing, distribution, services, license, sponsoring etc.
  • Work in close cooperation with a variety of Richemont entities and with the support functions of the Richemont Group and teams and liaise with and manage external counsels. 


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Solid grasp of the principles of law and an ability to adapt work quickly dealing with different tasks also in fields of law where your experience may have been limited is essential.
  • Strong team player with excellent project management and communication skills. 
  • Result and business oriented, open-minded, excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work in close cooperation with others - both internal and external lawyers and non-lawyer colleagues.
  • Excellent drafting skills.
  • Have sound commercial judgment, strong intellect and the confidence to take the lead in negotiations with both internal and external counterparties.
  • Demonstrate excellent persuasive and negotiation skills, as they will be required to represent the group several strategic matters of a complex nature.
  • Articulate proposals clearly, balance the requirement for technical expertise, and have the ability to recognise the bigger commercial picture.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified lawyer (bar admission is a must)
  • Minimum of 5 years post bar qualification experience in providing legal advice on a wide variety of legal matters in an international environment. A combination of private practice and In-house experience is preferred.  
  • Experience will include commercial / contract law. Proven drafting and negotiation skills is important. 
  • Fluent in both English & French.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
