The Group Industry & Services (GI&S) department at Richemont operates the Group operations backbone, from Manufactures to Logistics, Customer Service and Security. This backbone is supported by the Group Research & Innovation, the Richemont Industrial Management Solutions and the Group Supply Chain teams.

These teams share a common strategy and mission, with a focus on adding to the business. They have initiated several transversal initiatives around Operational Excellence, Industry 4.0, End-to-End Supply Chain, Quality feedback, Operations IT.

 

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

As the Group Research & Innovation Director, reporting to the Group Industry & Services Director, you will

manage a 60-strong team of Engineers and PhD’s performing R&D in various engineering fields such as microengineering, mechanical engineering, materials sciences, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, numerical modeling and simulation.

 

You will be in charge to:

 

  • Coordinate the team activities between the Microcity site located on EPFL’s antenna in Neuchâtel and their base location in the Manufactures.
  • Align R&D priorities with Group’s Maisons and Manufactures in order to maximize impact.
  • Define the long-term roadmap on main R&D themes such as product innovation, manufacturing innovation, sustainable innovation.
  • Work with Group top management in order to align strategy, report progress and validate budgets.
  • Ensure technological scouting through close interactions with leading universities and startup ecosystems (Switzerland, Europe, beyond).
  • Act as the interface between relevant internal stakeholders for transversal topics such as industry 4.0. and sustainability.

 

 

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCESS WITH US?

 

You have a strong educational background in engineering sciences, PhD degree a plus with a specific scientific expertise in material sciences is a strong asset.

You have at least 10 years of industrial experience in R&D/innovation industrial environments, with management of expert teams; and proven track record of leading and promoting innovative projects across a large organization, leveraging both internal and external stakeholders.

 

You have past experience in industry 4.0. topics (e.g. robotics, interface between engineering and data sciences, new manufacturing technologies, etc.).

 

You are creative yet pragmatic and results-oriented, with a strong network of research institutions and start-ups.

You have good knowledge of Swiss innovation landscape and speak at least fluency in English and French.

 

In term of soft skills, we are looking for someone who is a team player, curious, capable to operate in a highly-interdisciplinary environment.
