Purdey – Design Engineer

(permanent, Full-Time)

 

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

 

As a Design Engineer you will be part of our Engineering & Machine Shop Department to deliver a range of Newly Developed Products. You will support the on-going production whilst working closely with other CAD & CAM Engineers. This role will require close collaboration with Production & Craft to deliver prototypes through to manufacture.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Design and develop innovative products using Solidworks. Other CAD packages such as Creo, NX or Catia will be considered.
  • Assist Craftsmen in the production of new prototypes.
  • Converting legacy documentation/MasterCAM data into production ready 3D models and drawings.
  • Reviewing and approving documentation, engineering drawings, material/part specification and validation reports.
  • Constructing and proving out designs.
  • Familiarity/working knowledge of using a PDM system.
  • Work to and keep up to date with BS 8888.

 

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?

 

  • Minimum Degree in Mechanical, Product or Design Engineering or equivalent with at least 5 years in an Engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Have experience of working with high precision machined components (i.e. Aerospace, Automotive, Gunmaking etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive, hardworking and solutions orientated individual.
  • Familiar with FMEA and FEA processes.
  • Have experience with organic surface modelling.
