MAIN PURPOSE

The Director of Marketing & Communications will implemented an innovative marketing and communication strategy that significantly enhanced brand desirability and image.

The incumbent provides strategic leadership in intellectual advertising planning, effective event implementation and solid media relations.

The Director of Marketing & Communication demonstrates competency for develop comprehensive communications initiatives, digital activation and supervise merchandising to achieve business target.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Key Responsibility 1

Plan & Control
•    Define the key priorities and strategy/ marketing calendar to drive the business.
•    Work closely with GM and collaborate with sales team for annual sales targets set-up & sales forecast.
•    Adopt HQ instructions, directions, and guidelines on Marketing & Communications, facilitating through all vehicles with added value, to local efficiency.
•    Develop annual marketing and communication strategies including advertising, social media, digital activities, consumer events, and merchandising.
•    Annual marketing budget control and make sure all collateral production, and all marketing activities are qualified and meet brand expectation and able to facilitate annual sales target achievement.
•    Turn in diverse evaluation reports on time with relevant comparison to monitor overall effectiveness of every activation. 
•    Ensure a smooth operation of MKT/COM department to support brand needs and to comply with Group guidelines.


Key Responsibility 2

    Advertising
•    Develop and maintain close relationships with advertising agent to acquire market intelligence.
•    Coordinate closely with assigned advertising agency to draft a powerful advertising and publicity plan with maximal ROI.
•    Deliver effective SOV and invest on appropriate media vehicles to benefit sales achievement.
•    Improve brand awareness in Barometer survey through solid action plan.
•    Seek for possibility of additional material or resources beyond availability and brainstorm innovative practices to deliver surprising result. 
•    Negotiate for the best media packages when it’s applicable.
•    Oversee production quality to meet brand standard.
•    Optimize brand exposure in all aspects with qualitative presentation, such as advertising at prime position and editorial with respectful highlight.
•    Provide advertising information to concerned internal departments.


Key Responsibility 3

    Supervise PR & Events
•    Complete holistic communications strategy and doctrine to meet brand standard.
•    Oversee PR of Social media investments and make sure effectivities with visibility and cost efficiency.  
•    Manage event implementation with creativity to support brand sales and enhance brand desirability include brand event, product launch, trade events, client events, and press conferences. 
•    Maintain good relations with local and overseas media to provide accurate information, services, and possible risk management if applicable.
•    Oversee sophisticated product placement and endorsement to have qualitative exposure.
•    Develop omnichannel platforms or diversify communication operations that enhance brand heritage.


Key Responsibility 4

    Trade Marketing/ Visual Merchandising
•    Liaise with relevant departments to monitor and control event budget when applicable.
•    Initiate trade events and related POS operations to support sales target achievement in both WS & RT channel.
•    Integrate communication operations of brand level with activities at BTQ level by providing a substantial activation plan to benefit retail sales and database acquisition.
•    Liaise with landlord and internal retail team, and responsible for brand’s exposure at retail landlord promotional vehicle (mall edition, online/offline platform) to secure brand’s exposure.
•    Oversee and liaise with sales team in developing and implementing of POS visual merchandising (zoning plan & VM) based on product strategy, and POS related advertising (lightbox & visual renew) & promotional material.


Key Responsibility 5

    Supervise Product Merchandising
•    Develop and execute the overall merchandising strategy for WAT & JEW / RET & WHS to achieve commercial goals.
•    Define product strategy and related product requests to fulfill the needs to drive business performance.
•    In charge of assortment definition for BTQ and Wholesale and optimize product assortment and stock proposition.
•    Overlook all merchandising related issue for product ordering /delivery and stock.
•    Exercise reliable sales forecast - Collaborate with sales team to define sales target & product strategy, and sales forecast for retail & wholesale, maintain constant contact with global & regional merchandising counterparts to ensure the alignment with product strategies.
•    Optimize stock management - Define model stock to build a proper assortment, deploy effective replenishment and rebalancing strategy to maximize sales potential, supervise the product delivery.
•    Monitor price positioning and fluctuation on exchange rate to anticipate business impact.
•    Offer insightful opinions on product development & enhance stock productivity.
