Panerai is a high-end status sports watch brand that operates in a niche segment, fully exploiting its values of belonging that allow Panerai owners to feel part of an exclusive club.
The fundamental values of Panerai are based on history and the sea world, authenticity, exclusivity and rarity, product identity, Italian design and Swiss technology.


In line with Officine Panerai’s long-term strategy, the Managing Director acts as a business leader and is responsible for the success and transformation of Panerai in his/her perimeter of responsibility. He/she is responsible for proposing and excellently executing the agreed strategy. He/she ensures that Retail, Wholesale, Marketing, Communication, Finance, Operations and People Management are always at the level required to grow the Brand’s presence and dominance in the Countries indicated.
He/she liaises with Richemont Shared Service structure for the Region.     

In addition, the Managing Director’s mission is to contribute to the growth of Panerai locally by:
•    acting as a driving force for the overall business development,
•    strengthening the position and performance of SWM Maisons with key partners,
•    supporting the SWM key partnership model in the region.


As an important actor of the brand’s transformation, creates all the conditions for a clean and sustainable business:
•    Delivers agreed sales budget while focusing on sell out performance and growth, and targeting a minimum SOSI landing of 100% LFL at the end of the fiscal year,
•    Pro-actively takes ALL the measures and decisions to avoid ANY grey market exposure within the region
•    Doesn’t engage into ANY liquidation deals,
•    Optimizes model stock profiles for each store in order to increase door profitability and reduce risk/costs of returns,
•    Constantly works at reducing the inventory monthly coverage and % of discontinued watches within the wholesale network.

Proposes and implements a customer centric strategy, to achieve annual sales objectives and gain market share:
•    Develops an effective and profitable Retail Network by locating, negotiating, building, opening new Boutiques and closing as needed,
•    Establishes, develops the Wholesale Strategy with appropriate partners, in a win-win operational mode, while trying to inject into them as much retail experience and professionalism as possible (retailization),
•    Continuously monitors and adjusts the distribution to improve its quality and effectiveness
•    Constantly identifies opportunities to expose the brand to its target group through exhibitions, pop-up stores and unique partnerships,
•    Ensures premium visibility through high quality SIS/leading positions next to top brands.

Retail Performance Management
•    In line with Panerai’s strategy, leads the network strategy and leases negotiations with landlords
•    Direct Management of the Boutiques manager
•    Ensures that Retail sales targets are achieved 
•    Ensures the monitoring and follow up of the boutiques’ Commercial and Marketing Action Plans
•    Leads the local team to guarantees the highest standards of boutique operations (Client Service, Boutique Maintenance, etc.) 
•    Is responsible for the correct implementation of the central policies and procedures, and its adaptation to local laws 
•    Leads the local team to ensures the development of boutique CRM capabilities and implementation of client portfolio management and client recruitment at boutique level
•    With the local HR team, is responsible for team recruitment, performance management and feedback processes, succession planning and coaching of his/her teams

Establishes and implements the Marketing & Communication Strategy and its budget, to build awareness and brand equity in the market:
•    Initiates and monitors the regional marketing initiatives and programs, 
•    Proposes/implements the marketing strategy and defines an efficient and effective media plan to drive awareness,
•    Creates and hosts unique and relevant events with a strong focus on ROI, 
•    Represents the Brand in front of the various communities and acts as a strong ambassador for Panerai,
•    Selects the right FOBs and Influencers to amplify Panerai’s branded content on Social Media converting into side traffic and sales. 

Proposes and implements an annual budget:
•    Monitors the right implementation of budget expenses and follow-up of the Retail and Wholesale sales,
•    Manages A&P and S&D costs effectively as per HQ’s guidelines. Proposes immediate corrective actions to protect the bottom line whenever necessary,
•    Is directly and fully responsible for the P&L, Inventory, CAPEX, DSO and other financial targets that might occur in the region (and their monitoring with HQ guidance).

Creates conditions for smooth operational business processes:
•    Coordinates the supply chain, from forecasting to shipping, in conjunction with HQ Sales Operations and local Shared Services,
•    Minimizes the cost of shipping and returns by monitoring Panerai-owned and wholesale inventories and by consistently optimizing the forecast accuracy,
•    Ensures that Brand’s customer service and repairs are executed in a timely manner, working together with the Richemont Shared Services / CS Team at HQ and making sure that our clients’ interest is protected at all time.

Develops a winning team & organisation:
•    Develops a positive, entrepreneurial, agile and client centric attitude within the local team,
•    Finds the right local talents, develops and retains them (in collaboration with local & HQ HR) in order to ensure a healthy long-term development for the brand.

Provides appropriate reporting to HQ at all times: 
•    Respects all deadlines set by HQ,
•    Updates HQ with all relevant information, specifics and needs of the region.


Acts as a recommendation force to bring the brand to a new performance level using the Business Plan as the appropriate platform.
