About the job

Reporting to the Industrial Director, as Production Manager you will be responsible for all planning, and production activities linked to Montblanc Leather Goods. With the support of his team, s/he assures that operations objectives, regarding production capacity, delivery rate and cost efficiency, are met or puts in place action plans to reach them.

The Production Manager is in charge of manufacturers relationship and will collaborate with them on a daily basis.

 

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

 

As Production Manager, you will be in charge of:

 

Production performance management

  • Build and maintain good relationships with vendors.
  • With the support of his team, monitors production performance at each step of the process. Defines and edits Performance KPI, with Vendor Rating, for manufacturers.
  • Animates regular meetings with each partner for performance review and follows, with his team, implementation of action plans.
  • Supports operationally his team with prioritization for capacity allocation at manufacturers, and manages priorities or action plans at the Pelletteria Richemont logistic center for shipments to the Montblanc logistic center.
  • In coordination with continuous improvement teams, leads improvement actions to reduce production lead-times.

 

Guaranteeing the success of the Maison’s launch plan for novelties, with deliveries in time, meeting the requested profitability and the quality requirements

  • Gets a deep understanding of Maison’s culture and major challenges
  • Assures efficient coordination between purchasing, industrialization and production phases, in order to guarantee novelties in time, at the right price and appropriate quality. Prepare with operational teams alerts / reports if discrepancies
  • Follows the milestones of novelties projects on weekly base. Participates actively to the weekly novelties meeting and provides corrective actions to eventual production/purchasing issues.
  • Works with the Industrialization & Purchasing Team to shorten the Time To Market of novelties or identifies process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner

 

Managing mid and long term planning activities for LG

  • Runs with his team the monthly cycle of planning in PRF, in collaboration with manufacturers and Maison’s Operations teams. Prepares, with his team, workload analysis for mid/long term horizon and validates with the Montblanc development team manufacturer allocations.
  • Proposes to Montblanc Operations teams alternatives in case of overload or potential lack of production. In collaboration with the Industrial Director, researches new partners (if need) and defines ramp-up plans.
  • Synthetizes the agreed plan for the whole horizon after MPS meeting. Communicates to all PRF departments major changes vs. previous cycles.

 

Products cost efficiency

  • Monitors material consumptions on a monthly basis. Ask for Adjust consumption when needed or defines action plans with PRF departments and manufacturers to reduce consumptions.
  • In collaboration with Costing department, implement actions to reduce COGS on a regular basis, while assuring quality standards.

 

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?

  • Degree in Engineering/Business Management or equivalent is preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience as a Production planning and/or control expert within a structured Group/Brand in the LeatherGoods industry
  • At least one experience as manager of a team
  • Ability to manage flows and methods of finished product on toll manufacturing by interacting with external factories
  • Proficiency in English (B2 Level or more)
  • knowledge of the working of ERP systems (knowledge of SAP will be considered a strong plus)
  • Ability to negotiate and interact effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
