Chinese Business Development Manager

The ideal candidate will be the in-house expert on all business activities involving the Chinese consumer for North America and will create and execute strategy for growing the Chinese consumer market.



  • Be the point person for management of all Chinese Business activities in the US and Canada:
    • Propose and lead any activity that will improve the sales to Chinese travelers in the Retail network
    • Get in contact with the local Chinese community in order to create new strategic links
  • Liaises with Boutique teams to plan and execute localized events and activities:
    • Animate the RED boutique by defining an annual calendar
    • Ensure execution of crucial events during the financial year (Golden weeks, Chinese New Year/ Tour guides)
    • Work in cooperation with Marketing department to set-up activities in all relevant boutiques
  • Partner with the High Artistry Development Director in order to develop  the Chinese VIP business by increasing the number of local Chinese Imperials
  • Partner with the Training Director to create new training sessions for Chinese employees focused on brand culture, selling ceremony and products
  • Conduct industry research, maintain competitive analysis and provide strategic recommendations
  • Partner with Global Chinese Business Manager to identify and leverage global best practices within North America boutiques
  • Create link for partnership with relevant local Chinese organizations
  • Manage external vendor communication, work with retail and marketing team to identify and obtain relevant materials for partner activities
  • Propose and set-up new local partnerships
  • Strength the link with Alipay and other crucial Chinese commercial tools in order to drive clients to the stores (i.e. WeChat)
  • Define in partnership with the Regional Managers and he VP Retail the target and KPI’s for each RED boutique
  • Develop any aspects to increase Chinese business



  • BA degree; MBA preferred
  • Fluent or Native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese  
  • Minimum of 5 years of retail experience within a global brand
  • Minimum 3 years of luxury marketing, outreach and VIP clienteling experience
  • Creative and proactive approach to problem solving and improving tools
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Ability to drive results through effective communication
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management and retail
  • Exceptional analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail



  • Microsoft application proficiency (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
  • Proficiency in various social media environments, including WeChat
  • SAP knowledge preferred
