POSITION SUMMARY

As the Merchandising Director for the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan, China, and Korea), you will oversee both product and visual merchandising strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives. This role requires deep collaboration with all company departments, especially marketing and supply chain, to synchronize merchandising strategies with marketing activities and ensure timely stock availability.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies at the regional level, incorporating both product placement and visual display techniques to enhance customer experience and sales.

  • Define efficient assortment planning at market, sales channel, and point of sales levels, ensuring a balance between inventory, value, and sales performance.

  • Continuously review and update the defined assortment following product lifecycle changes to adapt to market demands.

  • Forecast and allocate novelty products in alignment with the overall business strategy, ensuring that new launches are effectively integrated into our existing portfolio.

  • Provide proactive follow-up and communication on new launches and deployments to all sales channel teams, ensuring that everyone is informed and prepared for upcoming releases.

  • Monitor and analyze competitive activities and market dynamics within the region to adapt strategies effectively.

  • Manage and direct a regional team responsible for executing visual merchandising standards and practices in all stores across the specified Asian markets.

  • Ensure consistent and compelling visual presentation of all products in line with brand standards.

  • Form a strong partnership with the supply chain team to ensure that stock is provided at the right time, optimizing inventory levels and responding dynamically to market demands.

  • Liaise closely with the marketing team to align merchandising strategies with marketing activities and product launches, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach.

  • Lead, train, nd support a regional team of merchandisers and visual merchandisers to achieve set goals.

 

PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

  • At least 10 years of extensive experience in merchandising within the luxury fashion industry, demonstrating a successful career focused solely on upscale merchandising.

  • Expert understanding of fashion trends and consumer preferences in the specified regions.

  • Strong management and leadership skills, capable of motivating and leading a geographically dispersed team.

  • Proven ability to work independently and make strategic decisions based on data.

  • Fluent in English and ideally one or more Asian languages.
