Laureus World Sports Awards Limited – Social Media Manager

(Permanent Full Time – Located in Fulham SW6)




Laureus is a global sporting movement which celebrates the world’s greatest sporting achievements and the power of sport to change lives.

Best known for the annual Laureus World Sports Awards and the work of Laureus Sport for Good - and supported by the legendary members of the Laureus World Sports Academy alongside a global network of sporting Ambassadors - the organisation is recognised as a world-leader in sport for development. We are looking for a dynamic and multi-skilled Social Media Manager to plan, produce and deliver compelling content that drives engagement across Laureus’ portfolio of social channels. This is a unique opportunity to work with some of the most famous athletes and sportspeople in history to celebrate excellence in sport, to showcase the power of sport to unite us, and to tell the stories of the inspirational impact of Laureus Sport for Good on the lives of children in over 40 countries globally.

You will be the main point of contact across all social media output: planning and creating visual content, writing posts and managing the Laureus social accounts. This person will be a key member of the team as we deliver on Laureus’ new strategic vision and will be heavily involved in maximising the impact and reach of the annual Laureus World Sports Awards show that is watched by millions worldwide.

Work with the in-house Communications and Marketing teams to deliver engaging and original content for our owned platforms, including:

  • Lead day-to-day workflow for planned and reactive organic content across Laureus’ social channels
  • Maintain high standard of quality across @LaureusSport channels, including error-free copy, design, link tagging and ensuring appropriate tone, style and Laureus voice for each platform
  • Work with Laureus’ social media agency to assist with content creation and community management
  • Work with Head of Editorial and News to define a measurable social strategy that aligns with business objectives and delivers growth across defined metrics
  • Develop ‘constellations’ map and define contacts across Laureus’ networks
  • Run regular analytics reporting and formatting these for distribution to the wider Communications and Marketing teams
  • Dedicated social contact for the Laureus Academy and Ambassadors and National Foundations, helping them to maximise the reach of Laureus messaging and content on their own networks
  • Assist in execution of social strategy for the Laureus World Sports Awards, including content gathering, live-clipping, and posting of show highlights as well as live-streaming requirements
  • Basic video editing and graphics work to create social assets worthy of publication on Laureus channels
  • Contribute ideas for proactive and reactive social content around key sporting events and initiatives linked to Laureus Sport for Good
  • Participate in regular editorial content meetings, short and long-term planning for our social media channels



  • Proficiency and experience with native posting and analytics tools for major social channels
  • Relevant experience in social media role, either agency or in-house 
  • Proficient with image and video editing software, especially Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • Experience with social management tools such as Falcon, Hootsuite etc. preferred
  • Understanding of rules regarding use of sports footage, copyright law, defamation etc.
  • Creative, dynamic, collaborative, and open to feedback
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise and effectively manage multiple projects
  • Impeccable English spelling and grammar – other languages a bonus
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Willingness to work some weekends and evenings on a rota system to cover key sporting and Laureus events
  • Enthusiastic and passionate social guru with experience working in sport or entertainment, either in-house or with an agency
  • Passion for sport, and understanding of major sporting events on an international level
  • Proactive and confident about bringing innovative ideas to the table with a view to growing reach and engagement across all channels
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with internal and external teams and deliver clear and concise messages, both written and verbal
  • Multi-skilled producer - ability to generate strong, sharable and engaging content 
  • In-depth knowledge of major platform’s organic and paid features 
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems an advantage
