Sponsorship Development Manager (Fundraising)

a passionate professional who is driven by being part of the change of the Laureus for Good movement in the Netherlands, promoting the global vision and strategy. You will be entrusted in leading the National office (based in Delft), ensuring we reach all program and fundraising goals in accordance with the national strategy. From inspiring staff, to close collaboration with the Board members, we trust in you to maintain strong sponsorship, compliance and efficient governance of Laureaus operations in the Netherlands.

We aim to support programmes that enhance the social and emotional development of children, young people and disadvantaged communities while reducing the impact of violence and discrimination. We aim to inspire healthy behaviour, change and increase educational achievements and employability skills. We aim to strengthen the sport for development sector through impact measurement, research and knowledge-sharing. We know it is important to highlight serious social issues faced by children/young people and unlock greater resources for the sector through effective advocacy and communications.



Sponsor Relations

  • you identify potential stakeholders and partners
  • you develop a fundraising plan which supports the national strategy, adhering to the budget restrictions – presenting it to the National Office`s Board of Trustees and S4G Global Director for approval and input.
  • you report on the progress of the fundraising plan and maintain seamless execution
  • you build and maintain strong relationships with national representatives of the Global Sponsors (Richemont and Daimler), with ongoing vision of optimizing and increasing funding
  • you also support with global fundraising initiatives when relating to the Netherlands


Strategy, Leadership & Programme Management

  • you oversee the needs of communities, context and funding potential to devise a national strategy and annual budget for the national operations – presenting the strategy to the board and Global Director
  • you oversee and report on the progress and impact of the strategy and its implementation
  • you manage the overall national operations, programmes, fundraising and supporting functions – reviewing and refining management structures
  • you identify and support other sport for development programmes, which are in alignment with the national strategy, while maintaining our “Alleen jij bepaalt wie je bent” programme
  • you carefully monitor and evaluate each programme and the impact it achieved – ensuring all information is stored within the S4G`s database in compliance with local and global law
  • you utilise S4G`s application, assessment and programme and grant management tools to quality assure sport for development programmes we will support
  • you ensure all requirements by funders and sponsors are carefully met


Governance & Communications

  • you provide annual reporting as an overview of national operations for the board of trustees and the Global Director
  • you constantly monitor any risks and act accordingly to prevent disruption of national operations
  • you oversee full compliance of national operations with the initial agreement with the global S4G
  • you monitor changes in charity law and corporate governance practice, which might impact our national operations – ensuring we are in full compliance with law authorities
  • you represent our national operations globally and act in accordance with our guidelines and procedures
  • as a natural networker, you optimize communications internally and externally, upholding excellent relationships with our external partners and sponsors, while working closely with our global communication teams
  • you work closely with our global partner to find innovative ways and methods that could be implemented nationally


In addition to ad hoc tasks you also fully manage the financial aspect of our national operations and the team in the Netherlands.



  • have strong Dutch communication skills, complemented by your English language proficiency (verbal and written)
  • acquired a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in sponsorship/grant management, project management, fundraising or business development in an NGO or charity organization
  • have experience in developing the sponsorship demographic within the Netherlands and reporting to a board of trustees
  • built a strong track record of quality stakeholder management and have an adaptable personality easily liaising with people of various backgrounds
  • have leadership, strategic, commercial and social skills that are driven by your strong passion to make an impact
  • are a speedy learner, strong spokesperson and uphold the highest quality in all your interactions
