MAIN PURPOSE

 

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Chief of Staff acts as a partner to the organization by providing both strategic and tactical support to the Cartier organization in Japan. This position is a critically important role, enabling the CEO to work most effectively with key stakeholders such as the ExCo and their direct reports, Richemont shared service functions as well as with Cartier International & Group stakeholders. As the CEO’s ‘trusted collaborator’, the role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong leadership, self-motivation, analytical skills and a very good knowledge of Maison processes and key stakeholders. The jobholder is firstly responsible for supporting the CEO on strategic projects and for providing advice to the CEO in order to improve the daily management of the Region. He/she is also responsible for managing successfully key projects and initiatives, spanning from annual company gatherings to coordinating the Strategic Plan/Market Action Plan, to other key projects. The Chief of Staff will support the leaders of key functions in their communications with the CEO to receive clear guidance and decisions, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing project management, and communicating objectives between departments with a special focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Relay to CEO: Be a facilitator of communication between the CEO and other departments (locally and in HQ or other markets): Assist and communicate with relevant parties in decision-making, member of ExCo, project managers, key stakeholders, develop and cascade key messages from management (including playing a key role at company-wide offsite etc.)
  • Strategic Planning: Oversee strategic business actions with departmental heads (help on planning coordination, budget follow up, coordination meeting) and play a key role in developing the Market Action Plan and its full cycle (FY review, workshop, roll out etc)
  • Stream-line and coordinate company projects & initiatives: Oversee, track and advise on projects in collaboration with senior management members, department leaders, project leaders.
  • Assist & lead key Projects

 

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In charge of yearly calendars, planning and regular meetings coordination. Lead clear template creation to facilitate coordination of teams
  • Responsible for project follow up, alignment and coordination (leading the project leaders, setting KPIs, regular meeting). Responsible for identifying project blocking points and report to management
  • Facilitate the Strat Plan/Market Action Plan discussion and consolidation with ExCo members, as well as its full cycle (FY review, workshop, roll out etc)
  • Build good rapport with the Boutiques (as well as office), and play a role in bridging the office/management and the field. Be a trusted ambassador,  gathering needs and listening to “genba” voice and be involved in “One Team” projects (Sports Day, 50th, etc)
  • Build connection with various stakeholders, including HQ teams as well as Richemont. Be able to listen and answer as a Japan representative.
  • Work closely with the Business Planning team and stake holders in coordinating department analysis and business planning (ex: Business review, townhall, gathering organization…)
  • Supporting ExCo meetings and follow up on decision making
  • Work in pair with CEO executive assistant
  • Keep on open eye on the market trends, identify opportunities
