MAIN PURPOSE

The purpose of the position is to take the responsibility for leading the subordinate training & coaching team of the Retail Department at strategic level, creating functional program & solutions, delivering the necessary retail skills and products training, and also monitoring the activity & results as Business Partner to the Retail Management team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Key responsibility 1 – Building and implementing the functional strategic training plan for both Retail and Specialist, according to the business strategy (focus on commercial training & coaching)

  • Analyse and identify training needs regarding Business expectations added to Performance Appraisal, Management feedbacks, and etc.
  • Provide customized solution according to the particular need and business strategy
  • Roll out global training programs including e-learning and class-room training courses in the local market. Ensure learning content is well communicated and tailor-made between HQ and local business stakeholders
  • Deploy and supervise the implementation of the training plan. Control the training costs (including the team T&E) as per the yearly budget
  • Measure the effectiveness of the training through the sales performance. Collect the feedbacks and revert to the Retail management team

 

Key responsibility 2 – Establish the various methods of the development implementation ( Formal training, self- learning, on the job, from others …)

  • Promote various and complementary solutions, including the use of internal learning tools/systems/platforms to ensure every Cartier domestic employees to understand and use those tools/systems/platforms properly
  • Support each new tool to launch, and work out the plan for local implementation
  • Involve all managers at different functions & levels of the new trends or revolution through regular feedbacks and reporting

 

Key responsibility 3 – Keep updating the training & coaching qualification (this part is about improving the entire team’s competency constantly from the inside & outside changes)

  • Look out for any relevant and innovative learning tools (website, book…)
  • Attend internal & external events related to the Training & Coaching field in the industry
  • Select the partners/vendors (internal & external) according to Cartier standards level & expectations
  • Constantly seek to expand the business knowledge and the expertise in training & sales coaching

 

Key responsibility 4 – Team Management and Development

  • Establish and manage an effective & efficient team (recruitment, mission, governance, and etc.)
  • Integrate each member with the team successfully and maintain a vigorous & sustainable team spirit
  • Set up the ambitious & achievable targets of the group or individual, and the specific & measurable KPIs as well
  • Provide constructive performance evaluate and feedbacks. Develop and motivate each team member by providing them detailed IDP, and etc.

 

Key responsibility 5 – Management of the MCT sales coaching project

  • Achieve the target of the China MCT program (both Retail and Specialist)
  • Preview and plan the continuous MCT projects in all boutique network of China on yearly basis
  • Collaborate with the regional commercial team of the implementation of the MCT program and the feedbacks being collected
  • Be responsible for MCT working plan and budget controlling
  • Analyse the results and identify the gaps to adjust and optimize the following training plans

 

Key responsibility 6 – Budget Management

  • Forecast Training & MCT budget accordingly on annual business priorities and strategy as appropriate

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:

  • Bachelor degree or above

 

Experience:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in similar position for developing and delivering training programs, with minimize 5 years' management experience

  • Good proficiency in oral and written English
  • This person shall have global vision, and good level of empathy, passion and creativity to work in a leading and fascinating luxury brand
  • This person can horizontally cooperation across different departments, driving for results of strategic approaching and the learning culture creating
  • This person shall obtain in-depth knowledge of training and development field and excellent understanding of retail environment and retail business
  • Strong persuading, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding leadership skill
  • Good planning & project managament

  • Headcount supervised: 11
  • Internal contacts:

          - Direct reporting line to Retail Vice President

          - Dotted reporting line to HR AD-L&D

          - Liaise with the commercial team (ie. Regional Managers, Area Managers, High Jewellery Manager, and Boutique Managers)

          - Liaise with the Cartier HR & RCCL Training team

          - Work closely with all division directors in China
