MAIN PURPOSE

 

The purpose of the position is to be in charge of the merchandising and procurement related activities. S/he helps to define the supply strategy to ensure optimum stock to meet customers’ needs whilst stock objectives are maintained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Key responsibility 1 – Assortment & Stock Planning

 

  • Propose assortment according to benchmarking, sales turnover/forecast and competition.  Ensure stock coherence to present Brand image. Review assortment once or twice a year and be proactive to suggest revision at any time if sales trend justifies it.
  • Formulate Stock Objectives to support sales; Monitor stock rotation and discontinued stock levels. 
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing for the regular forecast review and come up with the comments from view of Merchandising in order to well anticipate the market trend and stock demand.
  • Plan and prepare the stock for new openings and anticipate the use of stock from closures.
  • Manage stock for Event & Photo-shooting - co-ordinate with relevant departments to ensure smooth operation and on-time delivery.
  • Handling prototypes with the close collaborations among local Logistics, Product team and HQ counterparts to ensure the smooth operations and on-time delivery.

 

 

  • Key responsibility 2 – Supply Chain Management

 

  • Monitor assortment fulfilment, anticipate potential shortages, communicate appropriately to concerned parties, discuss prioritization or extra allocations with HQ.
  • Monitor lead-time evolution between Switzerland and China. Work with related parties to optimize lead-time as much as possible. Track inbound shipments in close relationship with Logistics counterparts.
  • Be responsible for the set-up parameters of the stock policy negotiated with HQ to ensure good replenishment at all times. Anticipate sales peak season by requesting extra stock policy to HQ early enough for stock to arrive ahead of time.

 

 

  • Key responsibility 3 – Order Management

 

  • Evaluate DRP orders vs. stock & sales forecast quarterly.  Rectify any discrepancies to ensure replenishment plan accuracy.
  • Manage end-customer enquiries and firm orders to reach customer on time.
  • Monitor stock level of other accessories & packaging. Manage regular order to ensure proper replenishment for boutiques.

 

 

  • Key responsibility 4 – Product Data Maintenance/Compliance

 

  • Responsible for product data maintenance in relevant systems according to the group compliance rules.
  • Maintain and adjust the MDS in system to ensure proper order generation and stock replenishment for Internal & External boutiques.
  • Manage novelty sample and lab testing with the collaboration with HQ counterparts & local Logistics team to ensure the smooth operations and on-time product launch. 

 

 

  • Key responsibility 5 – Take part in optimization projects

 

  • Take part in ad-hoc projects assigned by line manager.
  • Be a driving force for the project with good team spirit, relevant proposals, optimization mind-set and on-time action execution.

 

DIMENSION:

  • Internal contacts:
    • Strong functional line of reporting with Jewellery Merchandising Manager.
    • Work closely with Merchandising team members, HQ, Commercial, Product Marketing/Communication team, PR, Logistics, CS, IS & O, Finance.

 

  • Job Requirements:
    • Over 3 years of experience in Merchandising, Demand Planning or related functions with handling of a wide SKU base and network in retail industry, luxury field is a plus.
    • Strong analytical & numerical skills with commercial awareness
    • Self-motivated, quick learner, positive attitude, ability to plan and prioritize and able to work under pressure.
    • Good command of both written and spoken English and Mandarin; Computer literacy and excellent in Excel.
    • SAP, BI reporting tool knowledge; Big data & usage of statistical tool such as R/Python are highly appreciated
