JOB TITLE    Senior Data Manager  

REPORTING TO   Digital Associate Director

LOCATION    Shanghai, China

 

MAIN PURPOSE

This role is to lead China client data foundation, provide insightful analytics and effective client action plan for the Maison, which covers CDP, insight exploration, data modeling application and innovations, big data partnership with major DMP.

Deeply understanding of the uniqueness and strong demands of personalization in the luxury industry, with solid knowledge on CRM, data platform, digital application and approaches, this role should be able to integrate the advanced data technology into digital initiatives to achieve high-quality and agile data foundation, support actionable decision making, and reach ultimate seamless client experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Key responsibility 1 – Business requirement understanding
- Work with data product lead and business contacts to translate business requirements to data solution.
- Identify the gap between business requirement and data architecture and propose solution to resolve or shorten the gap.

 Key responsibility 2 – Data foundation and applications
- Manage central database from different sources, both internal data warehouse and external data collection
- Ensure the reliability and agility of the data model to be able to incorporate different data strategies and applications.
- Constantly work on data architecture optimization, database extension in a secured and compliant way with IT.

 Key responsibility 3- Data insight exploration and digital innovations
- Develop advanced analytics and statistics approach and models, leveraging machine learning and Maison data assets
- Enhance regular dashboard and tracking reports in order to bring a simple and clear view of client insight to stakeholders
- Shape and lead the large-scale data application projects integrated with various digital innovations to meet client needs and tackle operational pain-points
- Follow digital technologies and trends to identify the areas for business value generation and the opportunities for data innovation

- Develop external partnership, detect cooperation opportunities, and define the action plan for data prospection

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
 Computer Science, Applied Math/Statistics, Engineering or similar technical experience preferred. Master’s / PhD Degree preferred
 10+ years of direct hands-on experience and proven analysis techniques in Data Science / Big Data and/or Data Analytics to develop predictive and descriptive software models
 5+ years of experience working in a business environment, proven capability / experience to understand business challenges and model that as data problems
 5+ years of experience with standard data science stack and strong knowledge in data mining and machine learning algorithms (python, pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, scipy, matplotlib, nltk, etc). In addition, familiarity with Keras, Tensorflow, Theano, C/C++, Hadoop, Spark and R would be a plus
 Familiar with algorithmic models (e.g. Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, Decision Tree, Probabilistic Graphical Model, etc.) , and data science techniques (Feature Engineering, Dimensionality Reduction, Model Assessment) to conduct necessary machine learning works
 Experience in relevant scientific disciplines (e.g., numerical methods, signal processing, statistics, mathematics and optimization) also a plus
 Extensive expertise in working with common DBMS (SQL / NoSQL / Hive)
 Strong communication skills for cross functional coordination with internal Business, EMIT, Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data PM, Data Administrator and external vendor
 Fluency in English is essential
