Job mission
The Manager, Learning & Development – High Jewelry is a key member of Cartier North America’s Learning & Development Team (L&D). In this role you will execute the high jewelry educational and people development strategy for the retail boutiques, ecommerce platform, retail partners and corporate office within North America. In this role you will be expected to design and facilitate content through various learning modalities. Occasional travel to the field is required. This position can be based outside of the New York area.


You will need to demonstrate the high level of professional presence to represent the L&D Team in the execution of major, in-person learning events or meetings. Strong facilitation skills as well as attention to detail, independent drive within a highly collaborative/team-oriented environment, and the ability to demonstrate discretion, integrity, and emotional intelligence are critical to your success. You will partner closely with commercial business leaders and build trusted relationships across the organization.

Main accountabilities/objective of the position
Key Responsibilities:
High Jewelry Curriculum Management

  • Maintain the high jewelry & diamonds/colored stones learning curricula for Cartier North America
  • Partner closely with the High Jewelry Team and Learning & Development managers to analyze existing content and skill-gaps, and design new content to support those learning gaps
  • Facilitate select content either virtually or in-person at strategic training events, and/or conduct Train-the-Trainers for other L&D team members. In partnership with the Instructional Design team, co-create learning materials (eLearnings, virtual or in-person seminars, development programs, guest-speaker activations, job-aids, role-play scenarios etc.) to support high-end sales education for all audiences.
  • Conduct review checkpoints with High Jewelry Team Senior Leadership, Director L&D, and Instructional Design team
  • Create engaging asynchronous learning opportunities/activities as well as synchronous micro-learning activities to be facilitated by commercial leadership (Boutiques, Client Relations Center, Retail Partners etc.) in daily meetings
  • Liaise with, influence, and share relevant content with counterparts in HQ and other markets such as South America
  • Create measurements to evaluate the efficacy of high jewelry learning content and its correlation between business drivers and objectives
  • Partner with the Regional Learning & Development Management team to support employees engaged in supplemental external training


Strategic Audience Development

  • Based on needs presented by the High Jewelry team, recommend external content and/or build ad-hoc content to support the bespoke development of the HJ Sales Expert community
  • Work closely with the High Jewelry Community Director and oversee the content creation and organization of strategic High Jewelry development programs such as the High Jewelry Specialist Program


Strategic High Jewelry Event/Commercial Activation Support

  • Prepare sales associates to host high jewelry clients at strategic high jewelry events
  • Collaborate with regional L&D and Specialist Retail stakeholders to provide educational support for strategic high-end watch events
  • Support strategic high jewelry events in-person as a sales-assistant as needed
  • Partner with regional L&D stakeholders to provide high jewelry education to support new boutique/pop-up openings, travelling collections and new collection launches
  • Design and oversee high jewelry L&D support for strategic Maison activations such as museum exhibits and other non-commercial arts & culture initiatives



  • Educational background or commensurate experience in adult learning, facilitation, and instructional design principles
  • Supplemental education/credentials with the GIA, FHH or similar institution are a plus


Preferred experience

  • At least three years of work experience preferably within a Learning & Development department with experience creating and facilitating content
  • Experience in the luxury retail or art industries with a deep understanding of high-end clients and sales
  • Experience in adult learning principles, instructional design and Kirkpatrick Model training measurement a plus


Technical Skills/ abilities

  • Strong facilitation and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of accuracy

  • Advanced level experience using all Microsoft Office applications and specifically PowerPoint
  • Previous experience using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise or Articulate Storyline is a plus
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe InDesign is preferred
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as well as report to the NY Corporate office as needed
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus

Expected base salary range: $82,000 - $120,000
Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience
