Engraver and CAD designer, Cartier, New York

 

MAIN PURPOSE

 

In the Cartier New York workshop, located in the Maison’s flagship store on 5th avenue, a team of expert jewelers, stone setters and polishers manufacture and repair jewelry products for Cartier North America clients.

The main purpose of this role is to support the after-sale services and production team by engraving client and stock pieces. This role will also support the production team with using existing technical documents and will CAD design project as needed.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Engraving

  • Engraving incoming client pieces as well as stock pieces
  • Laser cutting request as needed.
  • Ensure client delivery and Leadtime are in line with brand standards
  • Train and develop other team members as needed
  • Trouble shoot any issues related to the engraving machines and work with the Customer Service Technician to resolve
  • Maintain the machines as needed

 

CAD

  • Conception and technical design of jewelry pieces e.g. bridal line, solitaires, using Rhino and/or Solidworks, as well as Creo software for specific product lines. (CREO training will be provided)
  • Review and approve CAD drawings from external workshop
  • Use Windchill/PLM app for technical information
  • Send casting orders to vendors as needed
  • Use 3D scans and 3D printer
  • Maintain and trouble shoot potential issues with 3D Scan, 3D printer and software as needed
  • Work on adhoc project

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Rhino or Solidworks software certification or equivalent software
  • Jewelry manufacturing degree is plus and/or Certification or accreditation from a technical institution/technical center

 

Required Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of CAD design experience in Jewelry industry or other industry
  • 2 to 3 years of Jewelry making/repairing background is a plus
  • Experience of laser engraving is a plus

 

Technical Skills/Abilities

  • CAD design skills is a must
  • Visual ability to balance fonts on surfaces
  • Ability to read technical drawings/documents
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, or equivalent is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Problem solving ability
  • Excel (intermediate) is a plus

Expected base hourly range: $26.44 - $40.86 

Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience
