POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Merchandising Manager is responsible for the all merchandising planning and stock allocation related activities in High End (HE) business for Hong Kong and Macau. S/he defines business strategy for HE business for Hong Kong and Macau in alignment with local, Region and HJ BU direction. S/he optimizes the supply and stock availability across markets and network in consistent with Region and Headquarter (HQ) commercial guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Merchandising Planning and Allocation:

  • Lead the market, develop and implement merchandising strategy for HE business and building strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Propose, define, and review prestige network assortment in collaboration with retail team according to qualitative feedback and commercial trends
  • Closely monitor stock level of the markets / network with the best utilization in order to meet target and maximize turnover
  • In charge of the animation of the stock within the markets / network: launch of collection, reduction of slow movers, and monitor healthy stock rotations together
  • Allocate stock per network and manage stock rebalancing across boutiques according to the assortment parameters and business potential
  • Liaise, work and follow up closely with Region / Headquarter in terms of stock request and other related merchandising and stock issues
  • Ensure logistics flows, shipments and processes are optimized and look for continuous improvement in order to shorten the lead time
  • Negotiate allocation with Region / HQ to meet assortment and firm orders’ needs.
  • Event stock preparation and order follow up after event

 

Sales Analysis and Data Maintenance:

  • Prepare routine (weekly & monthly) dashboard and business reports on regular basis
  • Track, analyze & effectively communicate on key sales and inventory performance indicators. Provide qualitative input and action plan recommendation when necessary
  • Alert on risks or changes in trend with action plan proposal to maximize sales potentials
  • Consolidate sales data from Markets during weekly estimation with validation to ensure the accuracy of data
  • Analyze inventory level vs target, and actual sales vs forecast.

 

Commercial Insights and Forecasts:

  • Monitor competitors’ trends to identify business opportunities while observe market landscape and customers’ preferences to maximize business potential
    • Project on potential sales, launching quantities on novelties, and assortments on range items
    • Share qualitative and quantitative feedback from markets on product comments with Region / HQ

 

People Management:

  • Lead the team to perform in a consistent and positive manner
  • Develop people, build team spirit and drive collaborations on all levels

 

 

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

 

  • Education :
  • Bachelor Degree, preferably in Business / Supply Chain with Financial / Statistics / Quantitative Methods / Mathematical background

 

  • Experience :
  • 8 - 12 years prior commercial, management or merchandising experience in a MNC
  • Prefer with Fine Jewellery and / or Fine Jewellery Watch experience or background
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and SAP
  • Excellent with PowerPoint presentations
