DIRECTOR OF SALES - TEMPORARY 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

Manage the wholesale and retail distribution of ALAIA in the North and South American markets.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

BACK OFFICE

  • Execute the distribution strategy of the company
  • Prepare and achieve the sales projections
  • Negotiate the seasonal budgets with the clients before the showroom start
  • Sales follow up during the season: weekly sell thru reports, provide sell thru analysis, identify reorder opportunities
  • Maintain a qualitative distribution; visit the clients, make a visit report and propose the best partner in each city
  • Conduct Product and VM training sessions in store for the sales staff on seasonal basis
  • Manage the payment and delivery seasonal targets for all the accounts of the region; work with financial and adv teams
  • Follow and maintain the COOP and CAPEX budget validated for the area on a yearly basis
  • Negotiate and coordinate the shop in shop projects opening; work with architects team
  • Register all the orders within the deadline fixed to the clients in order to launch the production on time
  • Send a collection report with the feedback given by the US clients, to the Sales Director at the end of the showroom session

RETAIL STORE PROJECTS / STORE OPENING

  • Liase with Real Estate and Project Managers to oversee store opening projects
  • Arrange meetings with all teams to ensure clear communication across teams and deadlines are met
  • Work with IT and internal functions to ensure payment and inventory processes are functional and prepared in advance
  • Focus on retail store recruitment through liasing with HR and Retail Manager (to be hired); including formalizing team structure, negotiating contracts and ensuring candidates have competitive salaries and profiles. Ensure process moves along efficiently, best candidates are chosen and manage interview and hiring decisions.
  • Align with HQ image & press teams to secure best launch opportunities to allow for a strong and brand- aligned message around opening; including store hosted event with top clientele
  • Work with HQ to establish achievable but strong sales targets for boutique
  • Liase with Paris HQ retail to align retail processes including streamlined reporting
  • Recruit strong candidate for US Corporate Alaia position to support retail operations, in alignment with RNA HR and HQ HR (pending position approval)

SHOWROOM

  • Prepare the showroom in Paris: send the invitations to the clients and book all the client’s appointments
  • Manage and brief the temporary sales people in showroom before the client’s appointment
  • Check the selection of all the accounts and mainly the key accounts in order to get the most representative assortment in stores
  • Follow the budget every day for all the appointments: daily reports to give an estimate or a final order amount spent by the clients

PIETER’S COLLECTION LAUNCH

  • Solidify or continue management of all related items to collection launch: (1) Digital marketing plans with WHS partners (2) Events (ie: LA), (3) In-Store visual displays

 

JOB PROFILE

Education:

  • University degree of Marketing or International business studies

Required Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fashion
  • Knowledge of the key accounts and specialty stores in USA
  • Excellent oral communication skills for training session

Technical Skills / Abilities:

  • Good use of Microsoft office
  • SAP knowledge a plus
  • French fluency a plus
