REPORTING TO Senior Marketing Manager
LOCATION Hanzomon office, Tokyo

 

MAIN PURPOSE
Marketing Communications & PR Manager is responsible for the following topics:
- Elevate A.Lange & Soehne brand desirability in Japanese market through Strategic marketing communication and PR. 
- Increase brand/product awareness and recognition among target audience in order to maximize retail sales in Japanese market. Focus on advertising and marketing communications and implements 
promotional programs based on predetermined brand marketing themes & messages generated from the brand strategies that are developed /maintained. 
- Identify the optimal mix of advertising and promotional channels, while connecting to, sharing with and influencing the relevant team of Sales and BTQs in order to ensure the understanding and delivery 
of the brand messages & brand image within the company, customers and the external audiences.
- This role is also responsible for developing and executing media (traditional and digital), social media plans, and digital advertising for the brand. The role will work closely with Retail and CRM 
Marketing Manager, and agency partners on a daily basis. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibility: Communication
- Plans the communication activities for brand on a yearly and a quarterly basis within the decided budget with a strong attitude towards flexibility, risks management and recovery plans
- Develops, monitors & follows up the Marketing schedule of both ATL & BTL activities through direct interaction with the suppliers/ agencies involved and the support of the crossfunctional team (CRM, communications tool production, Regional Marketing, Reporting and Administration). 
- Clarifies the communication/ promotion terms with Sales Managers to follow up the nationwide marketing plan, actively participating to internal meetings and business meetings 
- Manages the information flow related to the Marketing activities within Company and towards the BTQ members and the HQs
- Continuously Monitors the Brand health through the analysis of the media KPI and the spending efficiency (weekly/ quarterly/ ad hoc) 
- Measures the ROI for each activity and improves the agency's performance through periodical evaluation

 

Key responsibility : Digital Marketing
- Develop, execute and optimize media spend and demand strategy at the brand 
- Develop, execute and optimize social media strategy and tactics, including, brand tone in posts/responses, social activation programs and paid social tactics across all social platforms
- Identify, track and report weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually on media and social media KPIs and other measurement criteria requested by the Marketing Manager continuous optimization of the plans based on results 
- Leverage media portfolio for efficiencies and increased effectiveness; expected to provide insight into entire media portfolio, content partners and platforms 
- Management of campaigns from start to finish, including optimizations, revisions and reporting

 

Key responsibility: Product Marketing
Product Marketing
- Develop and execute PR / Communication strategies based on an deep understanding of product positioning, characteristics, marketing and client
- Research where the triggers and influencers are (online/offline) and strategically expose the product 

 

Key responsibility: Agency management
- Develop an effective annual plan and review it with the agency at least quarterly. 
- Take the initiative in managing the agency.
- Regularly measure the effectiveness of ATL / BTL with the agency to identify pro-con and reflect them in the next stage of improvement.

 

Budget control
- Plan the annual budget in the most effective way and review it regularly 
- Involve others, including HQ, by taking action immediately when changes are necessary and obtaining approval 

 

EXPERIENCES:
- 7+ years of experience in a public relations and/or communications role. (luxury brand especially in watch and jewelry industries and B to C company experience a plus)
- Strategic marketing planning and project management
- Strong understanding of digital communication –with a firm understanding of media landscape, and overall its trends
- Close relationship, negotiation and collaboration experiences with HQ and local media agency

 

SKILLS:
- Demonstrable experience developing and driving growth strategies
- Business acumen with a deep understanding of brand building and reputation management
- Action-oriented, growth mindset
- Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers at all levels of the organization
- Deep media relationships in the watch space
- Experience developing and refining robust reporting functions that include trend spotting, success metrics and competitive landscape
- Fluent in Japanese / Advanced business English in both written and speaking
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field preferred
