Merchandiser 

(FTC until March 2025, Full-Time)

 

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

As a Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the brand’s image and driving financial success through effective merchandiser strategy, planning and execution. The position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and the ability to translate insights into a compelling product forecast and assortment.

 

Key responsibilities:

1. MERCHANDISE PLANNING

Develop and implement strategic merchandise plans that align with overall business objectives and sales targets.

  • Forecasting:
    • Novelty forecasting, seasonal forecasting and range forecasting.
    • Track performance of Novelties to ensure that our forecast is in line.
  • Strategical product assortment to optimize sales:
    • Novelty assortments, seasonal assortments and range assortments.
    • Leading boutique openings, pop-ups, activations and commercial projects – creating assortment and gathering the stock for the opening.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationship with Central and Suppliers to ensure timely delivery of the product and to minimize shortages and use strategy points of sales when there are shortages.

 

2. MARKET RESEARCH

  • Analyse market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and to be able to quickly adjust to these trends.

 

3. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Monitor inventory levels by constantly checking and identifying shortages:
    • Monitor the product life cycle & replenishment.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate stock availability.
    • Rebalancing products within the points of sales to ensure sales are maximized, rotate product regularly to maintain freshness and maximize exposure.
  • Returns:
    • Create returns for overstock product to ensure the right product can be replenished.
    • Faulty returns: create returns for faulty items ensuring all returns are agreed by Central.
    • Out of range returns: create returns for out-of-range products once agreed by central to ensure our point of sales have enough space to present Novelties, range and seasonal products.
  • Support Press & Events:
    • Prototypes: working with prototypes for activations and press stock. Bringing the stock to the UK, following the stock and returning the stock according to deadlines and ATA Carnet.
    • Gratuities for Event and Press.
  • Support Staff’s access to stock:
    • Consignment stock to staff
    • Staff sales

 

4. REPORTING

  • Stock reports, KPI analysis and corrective actions (best sellers, stock vs assortment, slow sellers).
  • Provide reporting and analysis on a weekly and monthly basis

 

5. COLLABORATION

  • Work closely with Merchandising team members.
  • Working with Sales Associates and commercial teams, to get regular feedback.
  • Working very closely with Visual Merchandising to create appealing displays that showcase product effectively and reflect current novelties, seasonal themes or strategies in place for out-of-range product.
  • Working with Marketing for strategy and tactical product push (novelties, range, seasonal and out of range products).
  • Liaising with Press to ensure that they have the right stock to shoot and removing out of range products from their stock.
  • Liaising with Operations department to ensure stock is supplied, allocated and delivered on time.
  • Liaising with Logistics & Exports Department.

 

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends with strategic planning.
  • Merchandiser experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills, numeric ability and reporting tools.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, positive attitude.
  • Agile, quick thinking, anticipation and decision making.
